@freefall: at least i DO know that there are even OFFICIAL ENG SUBS!! for install, 'coz i remember that they had shown install at the yearly "Nippon Connection - Film Festival" here in Germany .... even though i dun remember their official film-listing, maybe it's still online. but i hightly doubt that they had shown it without any subs. so there seems to exist a good quality eng-subs version on some "35mm celluloid movie film-reel" .....

aka: "THE TRUE (subs) ARE OUT THERE!"

cheers, genji

@evie: a drama like KKK would be nice too, but that drama even though it was really good was too much drama for me at times. I think Aya in a comedy drama where she can be goofy and funny is good for now after that then back to something like KKK i wouldn't mind much

true! but she was a bit goofy in KKK.... "Hina!" "door!" "Hina!" "door!"

maybe some nice romance type drama? if male aya fans won't be after the guy actor's blood... hmm... maybe not! :hehe: *jk*

i have a few things i am in the process of ripping for you guys, i found a few *new* (as in i've not seen them before!) Lotte CMs, Aya on London Heart, and some Hey Hey Hey/Matthew's Best Hit stuff. Bear with me minna san :naughty:

where should I get my aya cd's, yes asia or cd japan?
which is better. because I remeber when I was browsing all 300+ pages earlier that yesasia has shipping problems?
I plan on getting:
Re.
Azumi 1&2 (with english subs and if possible with special features...)
BTW, what's the region code for the US? If I play it in a laptop will it ignore the region code? :shakehead:

US i believe is region 1 and Japan is 2.....Korea is 3
If you're laptop madei n US it'll only recognize US region code and i think its the same with computers too

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Personally, I swear by YesAsia. Never had any problems, the shipping is free, no custom duties and the orders usually arrive in 7 days. The region code for the US is 1 and the region code for Japan is 2. Unless you've changed the firmware on your laptop's DVD drive, it won't play region 2 discs.

At least on my computer it's the software that decides what region to play. For example with my DVD-drive I got a program "PowerDVD" wich allows you to choose your region for about 5 times and then it's final... For that reason I use PowerDVD for region 2 DVDs and VLC player for other regions. VLC player plays every region and I think it's a good program.

OOHHH i see. I think i used VLC once to play Azumi and it was ok....but i fear my computer messing up the CD, so i went and buy me one of them all region players, and i get to wathc it on a bigger screen :victory: TO bad i don't got me a 60 inch TV with a nice surround sound system :shamefulcry:

Yeah, there's a seperate hardware and software restriction. For my computer, I first downloaded region free firmware for the DVD drive from here: http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php

Then I used DVD Genie to alter the software restriction so I could PowerDVD to play any region. You can download it here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DVD_Genie.htm

Yesasia has had some delivery problems a couple of times (they couldn't get the item back in stock) but otherwise it's great. Expensive orders are delivered free (for Europe the limit is 39$) Packaging is exellent, and delivery is pretty fast (1½ weeks to Finland).

Cdjapan may sometimes be cheaper, but there's no free shipping. But they have the best packaging on the planet. And (usually) really fast delivery. I once got my order in three days, which must be a world record.

And you should get a region free dvd player. Most asian films either:
1) Won't get a US release at all (like Battle Royale)
2) Get a bad quality release (every other asian film)
3) Will be released years after R2/R3 release
