The webpage for Joe's movie Chi To Hone (which stars Beat Takeshi and Suzuki Kyoka) is up, but there isn't much on there yet. The movie is supposed to come out in November.

seems like this jdorama is always at the top of what's happening! made a search for chi to hone and found this link

http://mdn.mainichi.co.jp/waiwai/face/0403/26suzuki.html

it appears to be something that was on a thread here as well and that thread popped up as result #4 in the search.

seems like it'll be a pretty violent show. wonder if it'll even make it into Singapore...

So far there's been a lot of hoopla surrounding this movie because of the popularity of the novel on which the movie is based, the fact that Suzuki Kyoka will be having nude scenes and also because this is the first time in a long time that Beat Takeshi will be starring in a movie that he is not directing. I wonder how big Joe's part in the movie is? :headscratch:

has anyone here read the novel? it's based on the author's father's life right? sure makes me wonder what role joe will be playing too...maybe as the author himself?

not sure of japan's lit scene, but what are the novels that intrigue them or are likely to be made into movies?

Yup..i heard that one too..abt kyoka being naked and all. This has been discussed before in another thread..I think the Japanese movies' thread quite sometime ago. The guys there did not seem to anticipate seeing her without any clothes. It's more like watching Meg Ryan went nude haha..:bleh: No fence, I like Kyoka but I cannot imagine her without any clothes..perhaps it's her image or something dunno.

Hmm..perhaps Joe's part would supporting role since Takeshi has taken the big part. Then again, I like Takeshi Kitano so when it's out on DVD I might buy it regardless Kyoka being nude..hehee.. :beaten:

I'm seriously thinking about buying it too, but I hope Joe doesn't have some little part where he hardly appears!

Maybe he also participates in full frontal you know what scene...hahahaha..*cough* I hope not with Kyoka though..:beaten:

Whoooo! Joe neked!! *vizualizing in mind* :naughty:
I hope not with Kyoka either!

Hmmmm, if we're lucky then Joe might play the writer's role maybe? Then he wouldn't have a naked scene with Kyoka right?!
12 Aug 2004, 15:07 #1576
what happened to our thread now :beaten:
12 Aug 2004, 15:23 #1577
We were talking about Joe's new flick with Takeshi Kitano.. :beaten:

going back to his older work...just watched song of the canefields. the song is beautiful, but a very sad movie. war is so senseless! was weeping when hiroki and the children met the american soldiers... :mecry:

I really liked that drama. I usually don't like to watch really sad drama's like this one, but it was really well done and interesting to see life during the war from the perspective of the various family members. The only thing I hated about it was that it had me totally bawling at the end! Half a box of tissue gone! :mecry:

oh yes...it reminds me of beautiful world(?)...the show about the father who made life for his son fun during the war. the few war movies i dun mind watching again. especially like the part where the family in song looked at the pictures that the father took
