I don't recall Koetsu in Yoshikawa's book... Isn't Yoshikawa's book considered the baseline reference for all Musashi stories?

I read it in book 1. Oh, I've never told it before, but Terashima Shinobu (Aya) is also daughter of a famous Kabuki actor (Onoe Kikugoro).

Hmm, I didn't know that you could read Japanese that well... *jealous* :(

I guess a lot more actors than I thought have roots to Kabuki... :)

Yep, Koetsu appears in the book. He takes Musashi to the pleasure district of Kyoto, in where he meets Yoshino-dayu (it appears in the series too).
And yes, Yoshikawa's book is the baseline reference for all the stories.

Oh, not that well, actually I have a good Kanji dictionary ...

Yep, if we count the lead actor, 4 kabuki actors appear in the series.

Oh okay, I remember the Yoshino character from the book. And from the Inagaki Hiroshi trilogy (Part 2 - Duel at Ichijoji Temple)...

And yes, Yoshikawa's book is the baseline reference for all the stories.

There's supposed to be a "true" story book on Musashi from buyubooks.com but they've been promising the release of this book for nearly a year now.... :shakehead:

Ha,''coming soon" ... :shakehead: :shakehead: :shakehead:
It must be "coming not too soon" or "don't wait, 'cos it'll never come" ...
