Fabulous! Let me know what you think of your first foray into the world of shoujo manga! :jumpie:

at school today, i asked my friend who also read Yotsuba. they say it get's better. but i think it's very subjective. I mean, you know how the mangaka's style is to build strong characters? well i don't seem to like any of the characters and i find them rather annoying. But it might not be for you, so you have to check it out :naughty: :hehe:
Yeah, I think I will end up getting at least the first book at some time. I'd always be wondering if I was missing out on more fabness from Kiyohiko Azuma otherwise. :)
and yes, i'm gonna read the next 3 books on thursday (chinese new year). give my self a treat for a while. it's manga day. and also, my friends say it gets better
I hope you find it does get better... *fingers crossed*
I'm halfway through volume 1 of Gatcha Gacha. Hmm. It feels a little amateurish - artwork and storyline. The story feels too forced and unnatural, which is a bit offputting. I am quite enjoying it though, having said all that. :victory:
The extra text from the author Yutaka Tachibana is a bit irksome. She thinks she's funny, but isn't really.
And I was surprised to discover she's a she - I thought Yutaka was a man's name?
Next to read after that is Tokyo Boys And Girls by Miki Aihara (who did Hot Gimmick). It looks to be for a younger audience than HG (and has the lower age rating too).
Also on my pile is The Red Snake by Hideshi Hino, and volume 1 of Dragon Head by Minetaro Mochizuki.
I've had these books since Christmas (they were gifts or bought with Xmas money).
