Today's menu: Seafood Curry vs. Hayashi Rice.

I'll post some pics later if anyone's interested...

I'm biased because I would eat shrimp if it were covered with dirt, but I still can't believe the shrimp lost!!! :shakehead:

You mean lobster, ne?

I can't believe they went all the way to Scotland for lobster...

Gomen, yeah I meant lobster (why did I say shrimp? I must be losing it!) I was bouncing back and forth between the cooking show and the Dodgers game. Dodgers getting hammered by the pathetic Pirates! :bonk:

Gah, I'm not much of a seafood person, so, I was VERY happy that Hayashi Rice won =D The Hayashi Rice looked sooooooo goood x.x;;;;

Ooh me!! I didn't have time to go to Mitsuwa to grab an ad. I would've chosen the Hayashi Rice, even as much I love curry.

Doesn't the hayashi rice sauce look like curry?

Lotsa marbling in the meat, like the highly touted Kobe beef...

It looks too marbled, if you ask me. ;)

seems to be the usual story for beef. guess i didn't miss much.

I thought it was pretty wild to see them fly all the way over to Scotland just to land some lobster...

I would've chosen the Seafood Curry just to see how good the lobster really was... If you could taste it with all that curry...
27 Sep 2005, 03:08 #836
i was thinking the same thing, the curry must have taken most of the flavor and hidden it under the 5 spices.

i'd rather have seen that lobster eaten as sashimi.

I was thinking steamed with some drawn butter. Yum. :D

yeah, but that'd taste the same as our 1 year old lobsters (yes, illegal size), imo.

This week, they are planning to make things simple, really simple:

‚̂芪‚« (nori maki) vs. ‚¨‚É‚¬‚è (onigiri/rice balls)

I think this is right up qilver's alley.

Allez cuisine!

I'm waiting for the BIG battle between tap water from Tokyo and tap water from Okinawa....

Should be killer. :applaud: :woot:
