LOL.

Maybe they're well aware of the inference and using it to their advantage. :beaten:

LOL, the judges are jabbing at the squid with their grubby fingers. :hehe:

Ebi lost 7-2 :beaten: But even worse, I picked the same side as Smappy! Where's that bottle of sake?!!?

Yes, SMAP guy and a woman lost again.

Shrimp bowl won.

I felt sorry for the squid when it was being cut, it looked cute with its eyes.

I often read this thread whenever I get a chance to enjoy the banter. Well, here is the MAJOR NEWS!!! According to this LA Times article in the Food Section:

The series [Dotchi], produced by Yomiuri Telecasting Corp., is on hiatus in Japan except for the occasional special, and so the number of episodes to be aired in Los Angeles by United Television Broadcasting Systems is limited. UTB's license to broadcast the show ends in June.

So no more Dotchi when June comes along. :shakehead:

Yow, I didn't even know that the Times would've even known that, considering that their TV Guide never lists Dotch as such... Or even Furin Kazan

Wonder what'll replace it in June.

Yow, I just read the Times article... :victory:

After all this time, an article about the show pops up.... Just before they get replaced... :shakehead:

So all those people who missed out for the past couple of years are left high and dry.

My brother will be sad to know that the show is ending. He takes pleasure in watching other people suffer and go hungry, scary person that he is.

I seriously cannot watch this show without being so sad for the losing people. Well, except scary looking SMAP guy. He bugs me.

Actually, mine listed it as Dotch Cooking Showdown. and this year was pretty good about updating the Taiga.

too bad the TV Guide insert is gone now.

You can get it if you call them and tell them you want it: they deliver it in Saturday's paper...

I was wondering, did they ever air "reruns?" on the channel you people get it or were they all "new episodes" but shown months late than when it first aired.

I started watching Dotch late 2006 so I wouldn't know.

I can't recall any of them being reruns, but some dishes looked awfully familiar... Maybe there were rematches or something similar. :)

Account and Passwords info for LAtimes in case anyone wants to read the full article.

It seems they're going to try to replace the show with another cooking show.

Tonight's show:
SMAP guy was absent from this episode but the yellow side won. 0-9, everyone gets to eat.
22 Apr 2007, 13:33 #1879
Was it 9-0? I thought it was 8-0?

Anyways, it was Kushikatsu vs. Gyoza, with kushikatsu winning in a rout, 8/9-0.

I don't believe it: I woulda thought they'd choose the gyoza, hands down, considering they had kimchi and curry gyoza, plus a special, spicy ra-yu dipping sauce.

I'm stunned.

It can't ever be an even number(unless I missed shows where there was) or else there could be a tie and everyone gets to eat!
