You can drop me from that list. No Nihonjin in me, though you're not the first person to mistake me for one.

Didn't mean to be cruel. Do you use Bittorrent? If so, you can grab all the episodes on d-addicts. If not, let me know. Maybe we can work something out.

Not to worry, (I can still enjoy his photos :naughty:) I thought that you were speaking of a new dorama (to which I wouldn't have access to). But since you've said that, I'll definately have to look into it. I hate to ask my husband to DL it because he's the one that usually does all the computer stuff. And of course - (he'll know by the title that it's a Japanese show) I'll have to explain that it's a really good show so he won't be suspicious. So, he'll sit down and watch for a few minutes and the second Hideaki comes on the screen - he'll know why I just had to have it!

Yep, but I'm a two-bagger. You have to put a 2nd bag over my head, in case the first bag rips. :hehe: :bonk:

You bad boy!! There's no such thing as a 2-bagger Japanese guy! :beatyou:

Owowowow! :beaten:

Okay, 3-bagger! :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:

But seriously, to many folk here at Jdorama.com that are not familiar with nihonjin from their daily lives... they have a skewed perception of how attractive nihonjin are because their views are based on watching doramas and movies, and not from first hand knowledge.

In Japan, physical beauty plays are significantly larger role in becoming a successful artist in the entertainment industry, far more so than in the USA. So by watching doramas and movies, people may get the mistaken impression that the average Japanese person is better looking than they are in reality in Japan.

Also, because they are on a screen and not contrasted against Americans, you don't realize the height difference. Nihonjin are about 2 inhces shorter than their American counterparts. I've seen recent statistics that put the average American male at just over 5'8". In Japan, I believe it's about 5'6", which to most American women, they would consider short. On the flip side, American men are not as concerned about the height of nihonjin women.

Hmm, so I would be taller than an average Japanese, but would be looking up to an average American.

I understand what you're saying, but I really haven't seen any unattractive people, let alone Japanese men. But I'm a "very" average looking person too, so perhaps that may be why I'm so open minded.

I only believe that there are average looking (me, Alanis Morrissette, Whoppi Goldberg...) and very gorgeous (Miki Nakatani, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ashanti).

And remember, I'm from SF Bay Area (Fairfield aka Squarefield), where I grew up w/ all cultures. (That's why I'm suffering in MD.) So I'm used to seeing, talking, hanging with all kinds of people and believe that I have so many cool friends. Well, that and the fact that I'm cool!!

B.T.W. Kenji Sakaguchi is very hot!! :woot:

LOL... :hehe:

I can understand you ladies when you talk about guys like Kenji or Takenouchi Yutaka, et al, because they're taller and good looking dudes.

But some of the other guys I read the ladies talk about, I'm like... you gotta be kidding. They're either short, skinny, etc. I'm like "you gotta be kidding... my amigos are better looking than these dudes. I've dated women taller than these actors." :hehe:

Mikiko wrote:I wish it was that easy. Here in (hell) Maryland, there aren't many Asian (let alone Japanese) men to google. So when I see one, my eyes tend to have a mind of their own. And of course, my husband knows how I love Japanese men - so chances are, he sees them before I do (then he probably counts the seconds between each time I look in their direction).

Hahaha, I can't deny that I don't like the girlie Japanese men sometimes. I think that stems from my liking of metrosexuals.

Care to talk to my husband?

Actually, I'm not as bad as I could be. Because I do get asked out by several people (yes, people), however, I don't do...anything (that he knows of). :naughty:

But I think I'll leave it there....for now. :hehe:
