of course it's not too forward...i would imagine that she would be more than willing to see you given the proxmity of her friends to where you live...i think it would only be natural to at least have lunch or something...it's not like you're going to elope right...hehe

yeah i'd drop a fone number or sumptin'....n' say if you wanna kick it just give me a buzz and let me know if and when you are free....even if u don't hang out with her one-on-one maybe you can hang with her and her friends.

have fun!

Go for it!

All the penpal's I get from Japan just Stop emailing after a few weeks.. I don't know why..

last girl I talked to Lived in Sendai and she was going for her drivers license

Yeah, i feel like leaving her my contact info just in case and ask her if she is free to hang out while she is in town. I understand that she may not be free. I hope that i can meet up with her. She seems like a really nice girl, and i do hope that she and i can continue to email each other, so far it has been a few weeks.
Yeah, i guess people in japan are busy and just maybe lose interest. I guess all i can do is try, but i just don't want to seem too forward, afterall i only met her once, and she and i have been emailing a few times so far. She will be coming in a week and visiting her friends while in town, so I am not sure if she will have any time. :fingerscrossed:

I'm thinking about opening another account at Another Bank..

My mom is, I don't know how to say it... using a little too much of my money..

So I have to Split my money into 2 banks, going to try and keep this new account as low key as possible..

I don't know How I'm going to get pass the Statements they send in the mail.

i bank with bank of america...and i found the appropriate branch near my house that deals with forex and i didn't have any problem at all....moreover, you can ask for forex via the bankofamerica website...and i'm almost positive it doesn't take 4 friekin' weeks....that's just absurd......what the f*ck do they have to chop down the tree to make the paper that the dayem money is printed on......straight lame.

My old Bank (FLeet) is still getting the last parts of the merger finnished up but I'm sure by now if they did not have forex they should have it now..

I do have a question I take it they only have forex in more of the richer area's in town?

I'm sure they have on here in Greenwich,CT lol like every other car is like a Ferrari, BMW or Mercedes.

if you go to the bank of american website they will probably indicate which bank branches in your area carry foreign exchange....yeah, it's only the bigger branches in the areas populated by businesses that typically carry forex...if the website is of no use...i would call the Bank of America toll-free customer service number...someone should be able to direct to the appropriate branch in your area....

should be pretty easy...no worries.

4 fuggin' weeks...that's a joke....shitty service...but nonetheless, i'm glad it was my misunderstanding....sorry 'bout that...

Problem is that some banks do not have foreign currency within the premises. I know that in metropolitan areas, there should be at least one or two branches that can do forexs in house. Look around.

Edit: Tu beat me to the punch.

i mean "f*ck it" you have nuthin' to lose and as mentioned earlier you won't have the opportunity again in the near future...and moreover, if you do met and hang it will be more meaningful to keep in touch as a pen pal thereafter, right?

well Greenwich is not that Big of a town.. but the people that live here sometimes make it on meida..like $10M homes :-/

I put in "forex" on the BOA site and nothing came up.. so I'm going to try a branch search.

yeah, got nothing to lose here. Took a chance and emailed her my contact info and wished her a good vacation trip. It would be nice to hear back via email/phone call, but i guess i cannot expect too much, afterall, i barely know the girl and i just met her for like less than 10 min's and been emailing her for a few weeks now. I am just thankful and lucky that she did email me back a few times now. She will be visiting here in less than a week, so hopefully she has time to email me back, :fingerscrossed: :bonk:
thanks for the advice.

qilver wrote:@Tu_triky,

have a question, that girl i met in Japan is coming to visit her friends near my area. She and i have been emailing each other lately. Do you think it is too much if i ask her if she is available to hang out if she is free?? Do you think it is ok if i leave my contact info just in case for her if she wants to hang out. I met her only once in japan and she is here for two weeks visiting friends.

She is a nice girl, and i don't want to seem too forward, she has been emailing me lately. I want to continue my friendship with her.
:bonk:

Of course, I'm sure that she'd love to hang out, as she's in your area... You are already friends, so it shouldn't be awkward... you write to each other... and have regular communication, so I'm sure she'd like to have a little tour guide... and it's fun to hang out with folks that you're getting to know...

Ehhh... as for the bank thing, I don't know... I just pull mine out of American ATMs that also dispense yen...

my experience is until now, every japanese i met invites me to their homes or suggests to meet when i come to japan, so my judgement would be that they generally find it very normal to get in touch upon visits to ones country :)
16 Jun 2005, 23:07 #1339
yup i'm going to get hit with a fee if I use a ATm in japan, they don't have a agreement with my bank so it's not free..

So no big deal, just trying to find out what the rate would be.
