I agree that it's kinda interesting to watch some of these obscure events that are rarely played in the West. But, badminton and table tennis are definitely not obscure to the Chinese. It's a good possibility that China might sweep both events for all 3 medals in both the men's and women's sections.
Ping-pong diplomacy .... nope! More like ping-pong domination. :beaten:
China is trying to show how it's improved its human rights...first they beat down some Japanese journalists and then they knifed an American...ain't nothing new, man. Next Kobe will be grubbing on some poisoned potstickers.

They'll just have the opening ceremonies in a tavern, ne? :hehe:

Yeah, it's a total facade: suppress the media and journalists and everything looks like paradise.

I wished I had cable with the coverage spread out over a few channels, but the online streaming is holding me over. Watched a little bit of gymnastics, just the U.S. team on the rings and high bar.
Side note: Started to download video of the Opening Ceremonies, a monster 42.3GB version of the uncut Chinese HD feed. No, I won't understand a word, but uncut in 1080i works for me. I'll get to the 4GB NBC HD feed when I'm done with this one.
did someone managed to watch Roger Federer's match?? local and cable channels were airing different sports during that time hence i didn't get to watch.. :grumble:
