iie :) i was in the faculty of literature pero pulos nihongo lang pinag-aralan ko ... ngayon, isa akong GT__ --> teacher po

mahirap ba mag qualify for monbusho? interested kasi ako kaya lang parang napakaraming requirements (e.g. 16 yrs na nag aaral). and medyo limited and choices sa "courses". parang pag pasok mo eh non diploma ka muna...
how long did you stay there? i stayed in chiba (sa mga bukirin... hehe ) for a brief period lang naman.

sa pagkakaalam ko it's not that hard, at least in my school kasi affiliated siya and it does offer the scholarship yearly. although mukhang mahihirapan ako since i already went to japan through another scholarship program. i heard they want to give other people (i.e. those who haven't been to japan) the chance instead.

about the courses, i'm not sure though. i'm taking my masters in speech communication and mukhang malabo yata na meron... pero sige lang baka makalusot :P

i studied (at nangarir ng arubaito) there for a year. kainis nga kasi kung kelan nakaka-adapt ka na atsaka ka papatapon pauwi :hehe: besides, monbusho kasi 1 1/2 years tapos mas mataas pa allowance (180,000 yen per month) noon kasi sa aiej 80,000 yen lang.

pero kung may opportunity ka makapunta, go! grabe, na-late nga ako gumraduate pero sooobrang worth it!

same old, same old... yung mga nanalo sa mga singing contest... ganun. pero rakista kasi ako eh and i mostly favor indie bands so if you drop by the country again and you'd like to hear fresh pinoy indie rock music ... i'd recommend: drip, up dharma down, sheila and the insects, twisted halo, pin-up girls, itchyworms, daydreamcycle, etc. etc.

Sou desu ne, GTC - Great Tecaher Coven san. :victory: Japanese Lit ? I remember my Japanese friend asking me if I had read "I am a mouse" (yun nga ba yun ?). He said that it was a requisite reading daw for them. Forgot the author. tsks, tsk. Seems age has a peculiar way of reminding itself.

Yeah, never join those rallies. I really don't care on what they fight for. What bothers me is the traffic that they cause  .

hmmm... hindi ako familiar dun sa reading na yun. although i was enrolled in the faculty of literature, i really didn't take any major subjects. i believe all i studied was nihongo (as if bihasa din ako dun  )

i am more for the education of the masses. pagkalat na lamang ng impormasyon. perhaps, participating in rallies is one way of making oneself be heard and i neither condone the act nor the people who participate in it; but there are other ways of telling the masses that they have rights. talagang kailangan lang talaga ng tiyaga at pasensya dahil hindi mangyayari ang pagbabago ng mabilisan. para magbago ang pilipinas hindi lang gobyerno ang kailangang bigyan pansin, sa totoo lang, lahat ay kailangan ng complete overhaul at kasama tayo diyan. ilang daang taon kasi ng pagmamanipula sa psyche nating mga Pilipino ang kailangang ayusin.

does this mean, we're twisted? man, just look at me --> :metaldevil: , i think i'm proof enough

meron definitely kasi indie lang yung bands pero medyo mainstream na sila. lalo na ngayon itchyworms (they finally had their break!). check out www.fiestamundo.com for more indie mp3s. sa fiestamundo unang natagpuan ang sheila and the insects. (medyo britpop na puro synth kasi tunog nila kaya di ko masyado type) try niyo rin Radioactive Sago Project, they play a very diverse range, from jazz to cha cha to bossa nova na minsan ay may halong metal! di nga lang kumakanta si Lourd (who is a poet and literature professor) kay tumutula na lang siya. I think they are a revolutionary band, they are definitely one of a kind (pero syet gumaya ba sa pag tula yang rocksteddy na yan..sino ba sila?!?!?). Mahal ko ang Sago... (either you think they're so stupid or they're geniuses)

 Sago

sorry ang layo sa topic..but I can't help myslef from promoting them..heehee

what's so good about attorney vin dancel (just like his brother) ay napaka Pinoy ng dating ng mga kanta nila. may kurot sa puso ng bawat Pilipino.. (yes makata) :bonk:

We need quality education. The fact remains that the Philippines has a 92% literacy rate (forgot kung saan ko nabasa, supposed to be higher in the past, 98-99%) although not much could be said on the quality of it, when compared to our Asian neighbors.

Actually, the way I see it, there should be a change in attitude and outlook. It doesn't mean that if you're not educated, you cannot lead a productive life. Just look at the one of the richest persons in the country today. John Gokongwei didn't finish a degree, although he has established a lot of progressive businesses. I believe that if the individual wants to really achieve progress he will strive to find a way.

Kaya nga lang, some would say that it would take much more. Since some opportunities would limit their qualifications to those who have diplomas, degrees. But the fact remains, if somebody like John Gokongwei could do it, all of us can have that possibility too. :victory:

2 Mar 2006, 16:11 #411
i agree, it wasnt appealing at all.. i guess he got carried away thinking that he can do it all, but at least he still got his pride.. he should've done something like... "a moment like this" remember that song by justin & kelly's version? may pagka emotional attempt yun, he would've nailed that.. anyway im dreaming again  and i didnt vote for him.. i actually wanna be fair, not bec. hes pinoy.. :)

^^

*sighs* ako din. di ako nainspire magvote, di tulad last week, as in naka 5 messages ako to idol 05 heheh.

2 Mar 2006, 16:50 #413
yeh i saw ace, it was ok, i think simon didnt like it, hindi ko mashadong nakita kasi nagluluto ako hehe.. he sang my favorite though, 'if you're not the one' by daniel bedingfield.. plain and simple, hindi tumaas yung balahibo ko hehe.

Hehe ok pa rin yang "dahil". We still often use that word. Ang malalim na word nyan is "sapagkat" :) . Our topic reminds me of the "daisuki instead of aishiteru" thread :bonk: .

Actually, it's really my first time delving on J-Drama... so far, I've only watched two.

(1) Kimi wa Petto

(2) Sekai no Chuushin de Ai wo Sakebu

'Sekaichu' is really touching, in the sense that I felt depressed. :puppydog: Have you seen it?

Not yet. I'm gonna watch that one soon because I see good reviews on that drama. But I've seen Kimi wa Petto, a unique drama I must say :) .
