Fine, the guy's a long winded blowhard who's in love with his blogself and it just took him forever to figure out what we already knew.... that Juri is an excellent actress...

Btw, after examining the recently posted pictures of Ueno Juri (and feeling deeply jealous I don't look like her :grumble: ), I can't see anything even slightly weird about her teeth.
Of course, I am English, so even really bad dentistry (or more likely - no dentistry) is something that doesn't make me bat an eyelid. :mrgreen:

I thought it was a well-written piece, but I couldn't get some of the references (not knowing what Ueno Juri is like as an actress, and also being unfamiliar with who the other actresses mentioned were. Well, most of them).
I was a bit surprised at your approval of the piece - do you concur with the man's assessment of Juri's physical appearance?

I think she's prettier than what he makes her out to be, but I do concur with how she grew on him: she was just another pretty face amongst the many pretty faces in J-dramas, but her performance in Nodame made me sit up and notice. Subsequent viewings of Swing Girls, several other movies, and Kagayaku Onna convinced me that there's more depth and talent to her than most of her other peers.

But she is the girl next door... And she's terrific. :thumbsup:
