Sure... The ones that haven't been subbed.
Though I'm running out of patience/hope that those films will get subbed. :puppydog:
ash_ton wrote:Hmm.. I thought that you knew Japanese pretty well.. Especially after seeing the subs for Kagayaku onna over at d-addicts
bmwracer wrote:
Nope.
It was a joint effort: noblsheep and neji handled the subbing... I just did the proofreading and editing. :)
phlargo wrote:Well.. even still it's great that you've been willing to help out in the production process. Makes us lazy people a lot happier to have decent subs out there :)

Enjoy it while you can: she's growing it back... :P
phlargo wrote:I will say, though, I think the Ruka look will hold a special place in my Juri heart

It does have a place, but not in the main spotlight.
But truth to tell, her role and look sure has a lot of people jumping on the bandwagon...
phlargo wrote:Well, it's a profound move in their minds for her, where I don't see it as nearly as good or as conflicted/diverse a part as she had in Rainbow Song (I think she really got to show some good conflict in that).
In fact, I find myself somewhat underwhelmed by Ruka as a portrayal. She has her moments - and really some great ones - but overall, I don't find her exceptionally compelling. I'd take Nodame over Ruka as a Juri performance, personally. I cried with Nodame's despair, where Ruka is too clueless about her own emotions to draw it from us.
Nodame's highs and lows are higher and deeper. She shows agony and compulsion in some of those shots, where Ruka's highs and lows seem to be centered around action, rather than emotion.
Kijinnmaru wrote:So would y'all recommend Last Friends? I'm aiming for Swing Girls after I finish Nodame, but I really want to see some of her non-perky roles. Nodame Cantabile has impressed me with her abilities to pull off such a role and make it endearing, Id love to see the full range she has.

bmwracer wrote:
I agree... Tsubasa will ease you into the Last Friends drama.
There's also Engine, but you have to suffer through Kimutaku's brooding and roguish attitude... Which seems to delight the fangirls. :bleh:
phlargo wrote:I have yet to see either of those - considering your half-hearted reviews last I asked about them.. maybe I'll have to check one of them out after I finish Galileo - I'm feeling in need for my Juri fixe.
