Interesting: At the start of this thread, it was completely controlled by thtl and qilver's posts.... And now they're nowhere to be found here...

It must be me. :ashamed:

I did notice that Q's posts seem to be always referring to other idols that he likes and not really Juri-chan...

Bmwracer walks up to thtl/qilver. "When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master." :hehe:

They realized they just couldn't compete against the massive onslaught of uber-cute, super-adorable caps and pics you had  Certainly appreciate thtl rolling in once in a while to help us with a song or piece that's Juri-related that we don't know :victory: For the rest of us Juri fans, we're like 600+ pages late to the party :beaten:

I'm not the blog kind of person and prefer the role of information provider. Frankly I'm just happy that Beemer and the rest are keeping this thread going the way it is.

Keep up the good work. :good:

Ooh.. like the new avatar. I think it's a great Juri shot - she's got that semi-irritated/perturbed face going. A sneer, if you will.

After finishing Last Friends, I do long to know what's next for our beautiful young lady! :smitten:

How can any sane person look at that pic and choose the Ruka look?

I think it's more of a cynical, weary-of-the-world look....

@bmwracer: That avatar makes even me go :inlove: , heh. Where is that cap from?

Now that Last Friends is over, a few more weeks-ish until the Naoko DVD release! I can't wait.

I still haven't watched Rainbow Song, but I might just do that right now while I eat dinner... no more MGS4 to distract me!

Tsubasa No Oreta Tenshitachi. :)

It's pretty good... And you might need a box of tissues. :puppydog:

I watched most of tsubasa (mostly most cause my little brother wouldn't get off my back), and have rewatched rainbow song many times

Not sure if this is considered a rainbow song spoiler, but i'll just put it just in case.

Spoiler — click to revealRainbow Song was a good movie in my opinion, it just suffered from a lack of continuity (Actually i don't know if this is the correct word to use). For example, I was wondering why she showed her documentary to the guy and initially I thought she was applying for a job, but after a while I realised she did already have a job.

Also they could have done better to expand on Aoi and Tomoya. For example, how the hell did Tomoya know that Aoi was in that uni? Why was Aoi so trusting to give tomoya the leading role, esp. since she has a impression of him as a stalker?

If Rainbow Song was turned into a dorama with the original cast, I think it would be better

You weren't kidding. *heavy sigh*

Even though Tomoya was the lead and I was supposed to feel for him, once that bar scene hit I was brought to Aoi's side.

Spoiler — click to revealThe speed dating auction thing and not getting bid on, but shrugging it off and just walking off stage, accompanied with the pain in her voice and uncontrollable anger/sadness when she was reacting to his joke proposal hit WAY too close to home for me. I think Juri's acting in that scene was totally spot on, very heart-wrenching. I nearly started crying right then and there for her. Here she is trying to help some guy she met through weird circumstances, but at the same time he's making her feel even worse about herself.

The scenes of Tomoya bumbling and being completely useless at work were way too lengthy for my tastes. Was it to show how he wasn't good at anything or what?

I agree with what everyone said about The Girlfriend chapter. The pacing was really off and cougar chick was just, really. freaking. weird. I actually started laughing at Tomoya's terrible luck when he found out she was 34, which I'm sure wasn't the intention of the director. I found it hard to believe he would hook up with her considering how much he based everything on appearances (really, she looked awfully old to start with)... maybe he was really desperate? I know it was to show he got to thinking about Aoi again, but yeah... that chapter could have been spent showing us more Aoi-ness.

Also, I got really mad at Tomoya a couple times due to the "missed opportunities" that could have prevented Aoi's death:
1) That he didn't freaking raise his hand for her at the auction; WHAT KIND OF TERRIBLE FRIEND ARE YOU?! To leave a friend hanging up on stage like that!
2) For how close they became, I was expecting him to be more aggressive about her staying in Japan. She even went as far to make the conversation linger, saying "how vague" in response to staying in Japan... but he just stood there! It's no wonder she wanted to leave... Tomoya was a total moron and oblivious to her being heartbroken over him. Which brings me to...
3) I cannot believe he had no idea that he broke her heart -- she was kicking and screaming at him while he was down!

Even with all that, I enjoyed it. I laughed so hard at the bitey kiss, and loved Aoi Yuu as Ueno Juri's sister. They really did look a bit like siblings!

Also, I take back what I said about Ruka being 'hot'... I think Sato Aoi might be the hot one now... there's something about Ueno Juri and black hair. :> Though I still think her Ruka 'do is really awesome for a high fashion look. I think it might also have something to do with her eyebrows

One thing's for sure: This girl can act her ass off!

Spoiler — click to reveal yeah i agreed with you ,there no scene that explain that both tomoya and aoi in same college, that makes me confused.but aoi trust tomoya maybe because the speed relationship that they have and when they watched rainbow maybe that the first time aoi fell in love with tomoya.or maybe 10000 yen that tomoya give to aoi give him the role :hehe:

just read the entertainment newspaper in singapore that covers japan stuff.

apparently, juri saved amuse's butt (according to the paper) because of her popularity and her role in last friends. the paper mentioned the fact that the roles juri played were often the "cute sweetie" roles, but she played the role of ruka very well.

there was an uber-cool picture of juri in the rainbow song time hair holding the saxophone

Hmm, interesting... Wonder if the Japanese media is reporting the same.... :headscratch:

That would be her during her Swing Girls period: :)
