I hear Singapore's like one of the cleanest places. haha

Yeah it's pretty clean here.
But again, it is tough not to be clean. You can get a few hundred dollars penalty for littering and spitting.
And yeah... no chewing gums! :shakehead:

kokoandkiko wrote:That's what I've heard as well... But their enforcement is near-fascist, I hear.

Probably another thing Singapore is known-for besides cleanliness.
I'm not into politics.. so no comments. :victory:

What I meant was that Singapore is very strict with their "neat and clean" laws: no gum, no long hair for guys, etc...

I see... you're quite right. :hehe:
No gums, no spitting, no littering, make sure you flush after you've used the public toilet... blah blah blah... there are lotsa laws made for these.
Guys can't keep long hair until you are out of high school.

Haha. I laughed when I read your reply. How true but we are also very compliant people who are mostly apathetic towards politics. As long as we get our bread and butter, we're fine with the single-party rule.

As for the laws...I find it kinda sad that we have to enforce fines to keep our surroundings clean. Singaporeans can be a really dirty bunch. Truth be told, we have to attribute our cleanliness to the hundreds of cleaners who clean after us everyday.

Ah, we have our flaws but I love Singapore anyway.

Sorry for the long post, I'm not THAT into politics but I stay in the opposition ward and have watched some political rallies so I am a little bit more passionate about politics. Lol. :naughty:

So you can grow your hair long after you graduate high school, ne?

Interesting.

Right, forgot to give credits to those cleaners who are constantly sweeping the dried leaves & used tissue papers away from the pavements. :victory:

Singapore is still a nice place to live in... it's very safe and low in crime. :victory:

Cool. :victory:

From Wiki:
------------
In 2006, the total fertility rate was only 1.26 children per woman, the 3rd lowest in the world and well below the 2.10 needed to replace the population.[79] In 2006, 38,317 babies were born, compared to around 37,600 in 2005. This number, however, is not sufficient to maintain the population's growth. To overcome this problem, the government is encouraging foreigners to immigrate to Singapore.

I think the Japanese government is trying to encourage an increase in fertility rate as well...There is a great aging population in Japan and talking about Japan, they elected their new president...I wonder what the new Japan would be like under a new party.

Anyways, back to the topic!
I was thinking about Juri-chan's dog after watching ao akua and just by the breed of dog she chose (and his "interesting" looks with his tongue constantly sticking out in an awkward way), I think Juri-chan is a very loving person in general who doesn't care about looks and such. She's not shallow like many people (especially Japanese girls) who go after the prettiest breeds out there...
