Q‚é y‚Ë‚éz (v1) to go to bed; to lie down; to sleep; (P)

Might be a bit off topic, but what is the meaning of (P) in those definitions?

" You paid for this?"

Officially (P) stands for 'Priority', but I usually think of it as 'Popular'.

In either case it indicates words that are in particularly common use.

Sorry but I believe the (P) means plain form or in other words dictionary form. Hope this helps. :)

Er, I was just making a little fun of your euphemistic phrasing.

Usually it would be "mad passionate monkey sex" ;-)

In addition to the ones I've already mentioned here's one more word that is more towards the 'F' word.
Œ‚é y‚â‚éz (v5r) (col) (uk) to do; to have sexual intercourse; to kill; to give (to inferiors, animals, etc.); to dispatch (a letter); to send; to study; to perform; to play (sports, game); to have (eat, drink, smoke); to row (a boat); to run or operate (a restaurant); (P)
Again it is often used with its non-sexual meanings.

Er, no it doesn't because you are incorrect.

Those entries are specifically from a particular dictionary
http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdic.html
where dictionary codes used are specifically defined
http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdicinf.html#code_tag
wherein it is stated "P "Priority" entry, i.e. among the 20,000 more common words in Japanese "

what the heck? intercourse can also mean to kill... holly crap... better not use that then.... and i still think monkey intercourse sounds better.. its sounds more descent! lol

Nah, "to do" can mean "to kill" or "to have intercourse". Context usually makes it clear.

Of course this isn't limited to Japanese.

e.g. "I'd do her." ;-)

Hmm, I have no definite clue how those are read together. The second kanji can be seen in "Shunichi" and can be read as "Toshi" in names. But the first kanji, I have no idea how it is used in names. Let's call ya "Itoshi" :P That's my best guess. I don't know if it's a normal sounding name but it sounds better than "Eratoshi", LOL

Eratoshi...LOL!!! :beaten:

Actually Shunichi sounds nice...:P What does the second Kanji mean in Japanese context??

There is one. Type "eagle" in the jdorama.com search box, choose "dictionary" from the drop down list. That might give you a start.

Just don't end up like Lee Becks :) :

In my opinion the word and kanji for "falcon" (hayabusa) is much nicer.
6 Jul 2004, 05:16 #98
Well, there is ˜h, which is the kanji for eagle. The reading for this Kanji is shuu and ju. And there is êR, which is the kanji for falcon and eagle. It's reading is kotsu, katsu and hayabusa.

Hope this helps.

I was thinking of the kanji ”¹ (hayabusa), like the Suzuki motorcycle.
