What I don't get is how it can have eight reviews already... :headscratch:

Note that there are 2 versions - the deluxe one with 2 discs (making of, etc.) and the regular one with one disc.

You know what I just realized...the drama never went into whether Chiaki was going to be Viera sensei's pupil or apprentice...

The manga itself wasn't very clear on this until volume 19 (the latest one).

Hmm, thinking about it, you'd think there would be three discs: one for each two-hour lesson, and the extras disc. :headscratch:

Dual-layer works wonders; they can fit the sucker on a single disc now no problem (see most TV shows on DVD now). I wonder what other extras aside from the setup shows they're going to have though...

 Totally forgot about the dual-layer discs... I'm so used to burning discs, that I forgot that the ones you buy are typically dual-layered...

I think this was posted before, but here it is again.... From Mainichi News:

Will the real Noda Megumi please stand up?

eNodame Cantabilef manga character exists in real life

Megumi Noda, the star character of the manga series gNodame Cantabile,h which was a popular feature in the womanfs comic magazine gKiss,h and became a hit as a Fuji TV drama, exists in real life, it has emerged.

gNodame Cantabileh tells the story of a meeting between Shinichi Chiaki, an elite student of Momogaoka Music Academy whose father was a famous pianist, and Megumi Noda, a hopeless piano student going by the nickname gNodame,h who lives in a messy apartment.

After drinking too much Chiaki ends up staying at Nodamefs place. As he wakes up to the sound of a beautiful piano melody, he sees Nodame heading toward the piano in her messy room. Chiaki instructs Nodame, who hates piano practice, and as he tries to draw out her talent, he learns about the real fun and difficulty of music, and realizes his own dream of wanting to become a conductor.

The 16-volume original manga series by Tomoko Ninomiya was a major success, selling 15 million copies, and the drama which has screened up until the ninth volume achieved an impressive viewer rating of 19.9 percent during a Nov. 13 screening, according to ratings firm Video Research.

The idea for Nodame, who is regarded as a strange person because she continues to live in a messy room and often makes strange noises, was conceived in 2001. A female fan posted a photograph of a piano being played in a messy room on the bulletin board of a Web site operated by Ninomiya, saying, gLook at this interesting photo I took.h The woman was a music college student named Megumi Noda.

At the time, Ninomiya, who was looking for ideas for a new serial publication, gained inspiration from the photograph, and decided to produce a musical comedy with a sloppy main character. Editors at Kodansha, the publisher of the magazine gKiss,h gave the work the thumbs-up, saying the gap between classical music and a hopeless girl was interesting. This led to the serialization of gNodame Cantabile.h

Ninomiya reportedly continues to phone Noda, who has since graduated from the music college and is teaching piano in Fukuoka, to get ideas for the manga series. Nodamefs episode in the manga of creating a song called gMojamoja Taiso,h for example, came after Noda played a piece through the telephone to create an image for the song.

At the end of each comic book, the phrase, gSpecial Thanks Megumi Nodah always appears.

Oooo, got that whole "Densha Otoko" forum inspiration I see. Maybe we can get the real one to make a cameo in a future SP (or season?) of NC. Very interesting indeed!

I've got a feeling that the real Noda Megumi doesn't look like Juri-chan.

I'm gonna take a guess and think the inspiration of the Densha Otoko series doesn't exactly look like Yamada Takayuki either! :hehe:

Yay I finally got around to watching the first part of the Nodame SP today thanks to my boyfriend waaaaaah I'm so happy I enjoyed it and I am looking forwards to the next one *nods frantically*
Oh and this drama did something good, I've always avoided stuff with Eiji Wentz in like the plague... no idea why, but I loved him as Frank he really amused me so I'll watch his stuff from now on ^^;

Good point, SS... He was such a total weenie in Kirakira Kenshui, that I really put off by him, but he was much more likable in Nodame SP...

Though, he was still sort of a weenie. :beaten: :hehe:

That's kind of a weird reason to avoid his work...I found Wentz to always be pretty good in his roles (which of course are those of whiners since he looks oh-so-American :beaten: ). I thought he did extremely well in the 'Kamen Rider the First' movie, check it out if you get the chance!
