I had a feeling something was wrong: it's taking way too long for you to get through it... And to switch over to another drama mid-stream didn't bode well, either...
Oh no, I'm not giving up at all. I tend to take quite a while to watch any drama.
I think I just found the last episode a little disappointing, and I've kind of let watching it slide. I intend to watch the next episode soon - I'm sure I'll get back into it.
I just wanted to put my two cents in after watching the series and the specials...
As far as setting a standard for romantic comedy, this series probably takes the cake. Campy at times, yes, but I think it worked to its advantage in that you appreciated it when it never took itself seriously, but it caught you off-guard when it did.
Definitely worth watching again, and definitely changed my TV viewing habits in favor of Jdrama.
**...I just had to put that in since I'm a bit overwhelmed at how much I liked the drama, yet none of my friends have watched it yet, and I just needed to discuss it a bit to keep me from going overboard.

Don't worry.. I was right there with you when I finished it the first time! I actually just finished my second viewing of the last ep. in the series and it was really fun to see again. It's a great series to be sure!

Yay! Another convert...!! :victory: :woot:
Very well said... This drama, more than any other in recent memory, had me gushing as well...
So I believe there is a total unsung hero to Nodame Cantabile and I wish to give a little tribute to Mine's father. He is my hero. He's always got food. He's always enthusiastic. He's totally awesome at the end when he's so proud of the whole group praising the RS Oke. Mine's Dad: You rule.
Alrighty, I'm helping to seed the 720p raw of the first episode of Nodame Cantabile, hoping to provide an alternative to the JTV version. I wouldn't say I hate the JTV encoding, but I'm not particulary a fan of it. Using the DVD as the source and then upscaling it during the encoding process just doesn't sound so hot, and it doesn't look as great.
At the moment there are only two seeders, including myself, and with me only uploading at 20 KB/s max, the download may be pretty darn slow. Just please understand that I share an internet connection, so I have to be considerate of my bandwidth use. I'm just hoping once some of the peers finish they will seed for a while longer, help increase download speeds and I can continue on to the next episode.
Having said that, I'm still looking for other ways to get the raws out to those who are interested. I take it most of you are fine with the SARS or even the JTV fansubs, since you've seen the drama in its entirety long ago and probably have no desire to download yet another encoding, but for those who want a nice quality version to use with their own subs this is an option. I'm thinking perhaps doing transfers over AIM or other messaging programs if seeding the torrent doesn't work out well. I doubt hosting sites such as Sendspace or Rapidshare would provide so much space and bandwidth for free. There is one other option I'm thinking of, but I'd rather wait to see how things go with the seeding first.
