No wonder everybody appreciates this. Such a great drama.
Just updated my review of the drama (as well as wrote a very detailed one for Orange Days). I felt that a blank line for such a neat drama was not fair :)
Glad to hear Nodame's recruited another loyal follower!
But did you watch it the requisite 8 times (and at least 2 of those unsubbed and 1 with the volume completely off) to become part of the Nodame Elite Club?

Like what I said at my first post,
I recently watched it and I LOVED it.
Maybe I'll watch it again after my drama list.
However, is the behind the scenes included in your requirements? :hehe:
I watched the SP last night. Although I had put it off for so long because it was four hours long, in the end I found that it had been too short.
I don't think it was up to par with the actual series, but what SP is?
Spoiler — click to revealThe only thing that really disappointed me was the over use of "Mukyaaaaa!" and "gyaboooooooo!" (<--- was that it?). There were variously times where Nodame used BOTH in one sentence. It was definitely overkill and these small kawaii outbursts lost their charm for me.
I think that was all that bothered me. Everything else was grand. The music was AMAZING and I'm glad the subbers typed in the name of each piece. Spoiler — click to revealIt was nice to see, finally, Chiaki reflecting on his relationship with Nodame and coming to terms with his feelings. Nodame was kawaii as ever, and I would have liked to have seen more of her and her piano. Yet again I found her shifted to the side in order to make room for Chiaki's big head.
I thought Becky was hilarious, tho the Takki-look-a-like was kinda annoying.
Overall, grand SP! I wonder if they'll make another.

I think you have my agreement here with this assertion - not as structurally sound as the series, but it's that last shot of heroin - how can you say no?
The overuse of Nodame's cute random phrases was something I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it. I always felt they played a bigger role in the anime than in the drama so maybe I felt the drama a little lacking in that way (in fact, the subtitling in the drama often interpreted her exclaimations in stupid ways)

Really? I didn't even notice...

I guess I sorta agree... But as before, she provides the impetus for everything that happens to and for him. :victory:
No need to take such drastic measures - just plant yourself in front of your TV/PC and get on with re-watching Nodame.
WAH! I noticed the thtl-san was thanked in the sub credits. Well done!

Hmmm... then I think I SHOULD watch the anime. It's been sitting on my shelf for quite some time now. Mebbe I'll watch it next week. :victory:

I did. After all, both are my fav lines in the whole show. ;)

Hmmm... but I think there was less of this in the SP. I mean, Chiaki reflected and went over all the times she had been there for him, and how, after meeting her, everything had changed. But I don't think she helped much with the conductors competition... That was more a self-realization on his part when he noticed that he had defeated himself. It was about his own weakness and overcoming it, which he did alone.

She did pick a piece he enjoyed as a child for the final competition :) And she... helped him with his "Nodame issues "

I think you're discounting Nodame's influence and contribution to his success...
