I love the almost sadistic pleasure he gets out of choosing the strange canned foods for Nodame.

Actually I wonder if they're strange.. or they're cruel. Or merely that they are canned rather than fresh foods. I think Nodame doesn't like the idea of grinding up animals, but I suspect it's also that she's been spoiled by da home cookin'

I mean seriously.. I can't imagine my local convenience store has anything more exotic than 2 types of hot dogs (which may or may not contain either or both kangaroo and bear meat)

Japan loves food... No matter how exotic. :beaten:

There was once a brief discussion on this topic in the (now defunct) S-Project site. According to a gaijin who is very familiar with Japan (he lived there for a while and married a Japanese lady) canned bear meat is not uncommon in convenient stores in rural areas. I had canned kangaroo meat once, a long while ago, and I suspect they are not difficult to come by.

You can buy kangaroo in supermarkets here - not canned though.

Not surprised at all, considering your location. :beaten:

It would be like Texas not having beef. :hehe:
