Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ] I was totally floored by this. I have yet to see a J-drama better than this. In fact there are not many films I have seen that are better. From the other reviews, obviously not everyone agrees. That's ok. I'm sure I would hate those voters favorites as well. I can rarely recall having been affected this much by a film/drama. It really, really, got to me. I could certainly see how some girls might find it boring. I followed the lead as he fell in love with Kyoko. I also fell in love with her uber-kawaii character. The only part I didn't like was the ending. It was incredibly powerful and dramatic, but it seemed to be at the expense of some plot "holes". Oh yeah and what's the deal with the the cheesy ABBA music and that video at the end of each episode? But I tolerated the ABBA music and just skipped that stupid video at the end.

Fukada Kyoko [深田恭子] kawaii, kawaii, kawaii... Not too sure about her acting. I just hope all of her roles require cuteness^2.
Ryo [りょう] An exception to the rule, she seems to be genuinely beautiful, but not so kawaii per se. I like her "snout". She has a real fox face. She may as well be Parisian. Another model turned "actress".
Ueto Aya [上戸彩] Breathtakingly beautiful. Is she even prettier than Kyoko Fukada? Maybe. As for her acting, I'm too distracted by her beauty to notice.
Yamaguchi Tomoko [山口智子] OK, she's 40 now, but back when she did Long Vacation, she was so adorable. Totally kawaii with just a hint of a snout. I like how she moves. Not quite as beautiful as Kyoko or Ryo, but makes up for it in cuteness.
