My thoughts exactly. The drama section is knee-deep in stickies. :headscratch:

Here's something I've noticed over the last couple of weeks (if not longer): it seems that the various icons/gifs take forever to load and it happens on a daily basis. Any explanations for this peculiarity?

I don't have this problem. Is it coz of your browser cache?

Anyone else with this problem?

Yeah. I've got a fat Internet pipe here at work, but it still takes quite a while to load the "View more Emoticons" page.

I used to have this problem, but it has been much faster today. Did you tweak something, Genma?

i get that problem every now and then, and i have DSL ok, even if getting rid all the cache.. lately it starting to bug me seeing these huge sigs.. i know it makes the forum alive but i can live with just avatars and a small amount size of sigs..

which reminds me, i used to go to this harry potter forum alot but i quit cuz of huge sigs, and now this forum is starting to be like that, which drives my interests away. can we do something bout it? i mean think of all the dial-up users too.. i know so cuz ive been there.

oh yeh and whats up with the newbies, posting stuff out of nowhere without reading the guidelines   are they really an eyesore and can easily overpass it? not like we ever have rules in the General Discussion  but we soooo lack an Announcement section, foreal.

If you want, I can start to work on an Announcement for the General Forum on all the current topics we have going on. But keep in mind that the General Discussion forum is the busiest forum we have here, so keeping it updated all the time will take a lot of time and commitment. I can start it, but I'm not sure if I can keep it updated in coordenance with everyone elses' time other than my own. This will require all of the other mods commitment to keeping it updated as well.
If this won't work, I'm sure the mods in the General Forum can correspond with one another to come up with a solution to your concern. :D

Here's a search feature request:

I noticed that in the search options there are selection choices for:

1. Topic title and message text
2. Message text

but not one for "topic title only." :headscratch:

Could we possibly get that added in?

It would help to single out the topic titles for searches, particularly for us mods when we're searching for duplicate threads (and we've got a bunch of them)...

Just wondering.

Now that you brought it up..hehehe..which is good. It will definitely help us mods to do our job..i.e cleaning the forum (merging topics especially).

I can look into it but not now. Someone did a mod for this before, but not too easy to integrate into our forum due to the various changes I've introduced over the years.

Target it in the following weeks.

Okie dokie.

I wouldn't have brought it up, but I noticed that the videohelp.com forum has this feature, so I thought I'd ask... :)

This was brought up after discovering that actresses Katase Nana and Uchiyama Rina shared the same birthdate.

What if the homepage showed the artistes that have a birthday on that day? Of course it would be based on the time zone that the server sits on. I know that fans of individual artists already know the birthdays, but it would be nice for the rest of us. Heck I'd like to find out who shares my birthday. :D

So for each day, there would some kinda banner indicating that it's someone's B-day, ne:

Birthdays on this day, August 1, 2005

Yonekura Ryoko turns 30.

Sorta like that? :)

I had done something like that before I think.. let me dig it up. :)

Birthdays for artistes are one thing, not a problem.
How about birthdays for users? We may not want to reveal the age tho. In case some users go  away.

I think we were talking about artistes.... At least I hope.

Yup, only artistes. People don't reveal their true b-days anyway, right?
23 Apr 2005, 17:35 #280
@aho: sorry i just saw ur message now  ever since you put up an announcement, its doing great so far

i think its a great idea to have bday announcements for users, but just dont reveal the age i guess.. but of course if anybody doesnt like it, im fine with it, the artists part is good too, but not necessarily. =T
