And the good thing is, in Japan the rating is steadily around 20%. That sure spells success for Yukie at least.

I am also really enjoying this drama over last years Yoshitsune. Not that I disliked Yoshitsune or anything but it was kind of just average from what I expect in a Taiga drama. Musashi is still my favorite... This drama has been meeting my expectations so far. Yukie is doing great too. Applaud

Same here. I don't have really high expectations, but it's been a pleasant surprise so far. Smile

So far, so good.

3 episodes in so who knows if it's gonna hold up. But already it's yards ahead of that High School produciton that was Yoshitsune.

Tsugawa Masahiko is fun, although he sometimes chews on the furniture. Maybe that's why I like him. Yeah

BMW,

Nakama is a pip, but I'm thinking having all these wonderful actors and actresses around her make "carrying the show" light lifting.

For me, it's always great to see Tetsuya Takeda (Kinpachi Sensei) work.

And I thought I'd have trouble watching someone else playing "Monkey". Especially with Teruyuki Kagawa in the cast. I mean, he pretty much stole Toshie & Matsu when he played Monkey.

But they managed to get Akira Emoto to play the part, and that just does it for me. That guy is the star of some of my all time favorite movies. Everything from "Dr. Akagi" to "The Eel" to "Maboroshi", to "Shall we Dansu" and lots and lots more. You know he's gonna keep Monkey a vital part of the show as long as he's there.

I don't discount Yukie's work so far, but this thing is a freakin' all star game.

I suspect they've wrapped up their investigations and restructuring over at NHK, and are out to prove that they're back on track.

Maybe so, but she's the headliner and probably will be nearly in every scene...

Episode 5 right now.

Yukie-chan showing off that feistiness/perkiness that made Trick and Gokusen(not those pretty boys) such very good dramas. Big Grin
