It's like a summary of the story told by the teacher. But there's also some new footage. _________________

Well, one weird thing I noticed about the drama. During the flashbacks, it shows Saku with his three childhood friends. From what I gather from the drama, at least two of these three friends are still living in his old home town. The third probably is too, but I didn't pick up any clue as to where they were living.
When Saku returns after 17 years, he visits his parents, Aki's parents and his old schoolteacher. Why did he not see any of his older friends, especially since they were so close all up through high school? He spent time near the docks and the temple where there was a good chance of running into Ryonosuke or "Bozu" as well.
The teacher remembered Saku well enough to write a postcard to him telling him to visit. One would assume that either by word of mouth or by direct contact his old friends would have at least been in contact or dropped by to see how he was doing. During the last scene with Saku and his friends they showed that they cared for how he felt and tried to console him at the very least. I didn't see any kind of falling out among them... That is unless Saku shunned his friends afterwards. Still there are clues that at least one of his friends cares enough to still carry around a picture.
It just that this seemed "missing" from the drama. |
***spoiler??***
well, maybe the director find them not tat relevent to the back of the show, cos it will only drag a few eps if they were to appear n they need 3 more "older" actor to take the role saku's 3 frens. n that means more $$$$.
Think about it, if they were to come out, wat should they do about them? Max they will only console him n ask him to move on, n from ep 11 u can see the 3 actors are still acting themselves even when they are at 35. not to mention the tako pachi papa. Lolx...

I mentioned "spoiler" because I was talking about scenes that appear in ep11, and events that did not happen that others might have been waiting for.
Well, usually you would wish to see old friends. It could be explained away, but the issue was left untouched. It's odd because of how much they were an integral part of the "highschool" years that it made them all the more conspicuously absent from the "later" years.
Yes, the "cameos" at the end were a nice touch, and they said a lot about the influence of Aki and Saku on their lives. This then begs the question why they weren't ANY part of the "revisiting" scenes.
