watching ima ai ni yukimasu,, i'm crying in every episodes..
kindaichi live action (matsujun n anne suzuki)
and.. glass no kamen... nothing special,,huhuhu
Aaahhhh I'm happy that someone that is a Ryou Fan *you are right?* found that his performance in AP isn't very grand
lol! Yea, I have to be honest. Although I do my fair share of drooling, I do look at talent before anything else. I love him in Ichi Ritoru no Namida more for his character, but it's clear after watching Attention Please that he has a far way to go in terms of mastering his craft. I'm so disppointed that I'm debating changing my ava. Nevermind him being incredibly hot. Yum-num.

Finished all 3 seasons of 'Kindaichi'. When I watched the 1-episode version in 2005, I was doing so mainly on account of Ms. Ueno Juri. Quite frankly I'd never like Kamenashi much and I thought he looked like a drug addict on rehab in that drama. As it turns out he was not that bad compared to the 2ne generation Kindaichi - Matsumoto Jun.
In the novel-cum-manga Kindaichi Hajime is a happy-go-lucky kind of boy with some sort of mental block when it comes to school work. His talent shown only in criminal investigations when his powers of observation and logical deduction amazes everyone. In a 'normal' day, however, Kindaichi is just a clown.
Both Dohmoto and Kamenashi tried to portrait their Kindaichi in this spirit, although Dohmoto healthier and more realistic. Matsumoto, on the other hand, was hell-bent on looking cool. While the script did call for him to act silly once in a while he did it with restrain, always going back to cool. If Matsumoto did it because he was incapable of snapping out of cool mode then it was bad acting; if he did it because he wanted nothing but cool then he's a bad actor. Either way he lost the unique charm of Kindaichi - a blend of clown and hero.
Of the 3 Miyuki(s) Tomosaka was the best - I meant the script gave her a distinct personality. Suzuki Ann was cute but she didn't look the part - Miyuki was supposed to be more mentally matured than Kindaichi. Ms. Ueno's version of Miyuki was the best in terms of casting, but it was only 1 episode so there wasn't much chemistry between her and Kamenashi. I've always wondered why the producers of Kindaichi ignored Miyuki's description in the novel - a pretty, healthy girl with an outstanding torso. All 3 Miyuki(s) just didn't 'measure up' to the above description. Personally I would cast Nagasawa Masami for the part of Miyuki.
In season 3 another character from episode 2 reappeared in 1 episode - Hayami Reika. In season 2 this part was played by Nakayama Emiri to great effect. In Season 3 this character was taken over by Sakai Wakana which was a disaster. It was not that Sakai couldn't act - she had a tough look which just didn't fit Hayami Reika.
I have to agree that Furuoya Masato was the best Kemochi - but then he had 2 seasons to perfect the role. Naitou Takashi in season 3 was a good actor, just didn't fit the part as well - he drove around in a convertible which feeled more 'Fugoh Keiji' than 'Odoru Daisousasen', if you see what I mean. Kato Masaya only had 1 episode to play with but he was the worst of all 3 - not necessarily in terms of acting but he just looked liked he belonged on the catwalk instead of on the beat.
All in all, Dohmoto was the best Kindaichi and, for me, it was a toss up between Ms. Ueno and Tomosaka - Ms. Ueno looked the part but did not have a chance to build up her character.

Just finished Last Christmas
I'm really slow.. took me a week
Not because it wasn't good, it's one of the best I've seen! I'm just slow.
If you guys haven't seen this... you guys SHOULD watch it.
It's fun/light.. hilarious and interesting and heartwarming and.. all those good stuff
I didnt think the story was that unique but its very realistic (well a lot of the parts were). I like the way it was executed.. There's always atleast one memorable moment in each episode. The pace is just right, it doesn't drag. Oda Yuji and Yada Akiko were awesome and so was the supporting cast (I saw a lot of familiar faces). They're all likeable.. well except this one character you'll probably hate. I could just go on and on praising this dorama.. it's that good. I give it a 9/10 _________________

glad you liked that one - that one's one of my fav's
i just finished last ep of kekkon dekinai otoko (subs just came out in case anyone was waiting). a nice satisfying dorama with some great comedic acting by abe hiroshi once again. natsukawa yui does a great opposite of abe and it was rather interesting to see tsukamoto takashi in a more 'normal' sort of role
all in all, one of the better doramas of 2006, alongside AP and Iryu. _________________

Just finished Nobuta wo Produce. Very entertaining! Especially when you're also in highschool, but u dont realy get those kinda things in real life. Just realized that Yamapi is cute... Also is the girl that played in Kurosagi n Produce Nobuta (anybody tell me her name plz). I watched Kurosagi before Nobuta, turned out Nobuta was better.
Currently watching Ikebukuro West Gate Park, strange, Nagase Tomoya is hot though.
Btw, is the queens classroom (dont know the japase title) good?

Finished "Satorare" and "Kekkon Dekinai Otoko" (the subs of the final episode came out tonight).
"Satorare" has one of the most interesting plots I've even come across, and is blessed by an excellent cast. I got it in DVD form but it would have been worth downloading.
"Kekkon Dekinai Otoko" was also fun - I describe it as a suave version of "Densha Otoko". The ending, though, was a bit disappointing and looked like the director didn't know how to end it, and had to give it a very sudden finish.
