As you know viruses only affect Windows OS, it doesn't affect Linux. I wonder why, hehe.
I don't see necessary to update security patches if there are loopholes one after another. If this issue is fixed, another is left open, ugh.

Cause you know ... that Linux has a good security feature platform than all Microsoft OS ... even XP or Win2003 server ...
and you know that up till now ... all microsoft site still had protected by Linux ...

Linux is more commonly used by server based clients, therefore the people operating it usually knows what they are doing, or they should as Linux is damn hard to use!
So it's much harder to attack them, since they will have taken more preventative measures..
Basically, viruses are written by hooligans and its probably equivalent to graffiti.
Its harder to write viruses for Linux but there has been some, like RST, RST.b recently and Bliss, a few years ago.

nahh.. they wouldnt want to piss off their corporate clients.
All the home users.. ie ur typical moms n dads wouldnt even factor into the equation let alone all the n00bies and their pirated softwares.

MS and the other 'big' software companies makes their money from corporations and they wouldnt want to jeopardize and/or involve themselves in legal court cases just to track down a pirated copy here and there..
True, they dont care about their customers but they do care about the bottom line and their rep. I don't think they would want to spread viruses for such a small cause.
Having said that, in the early days of Win 3.1 they did deliberately put bugs in their software that gave error msgs if it was used on top of DR Dos. LMAO, that was such a classic!! Every now and then, it would spew out error messages even tho nothing was wrong.
Of cos, they got into trouble for it but the courts couldnt find a suitable punishment and as a consequence, they sorta got away with it.
Technically, not viruses per se but unethical all the same.. then again, we kinda expect that from Micro$oft huh?
/my 2cent.. ^^

Normally, I wouldn't post warnings of viruses, worms and such. However, I just received three e-mails containing this worm on my Japanese drama trading e-mail account, which only Jdorama.com members and people I've traded with would know.

To summarize... It arrives in your mail box as an attachment, usually either a PIF or ZIP file containing a PIF. There's also reports of other extensions being used, such as EXE and SCR. The ones I received had either "hi" or "hello" in the subject header. The name of the file doesn't seem to matter just yet. I deleted the files before I could catch the names.
Refer to the links above for more up-to-date information. And please update your anti-virus software to the latest updates.
