<sigh> You're completely correct. Well, it's good to know it's not so different from American TV. I'm so glad when they voluntarily decide to end a show here - you know, before it sucks.
I know ratings play a key role in TV programs, but at least have a story-related reason to make the SP... I mean, what are they going to do??

The only plausible scenario is something occurring prior to the events that complete the series... to put something after the end would be a disaster. _________________

"Last Friends" ends at 22.8%, gets special episode
Sun, June 22, 2008 (12:57pm EDT)
Fuji TV's drama series "Last Friends" aired its final episode on Thursday night. The show had been gaining in popularity throughout its run, and the ratings for the finale rose to 22.8%, its best for the season. The peak came in the final scene, with ratings reaching as high as 25.9%.
The show outperformed the week's episodes of "Gokusen 3" and "CHANGE," which had been the highest-rated dramas of the season. Both have been falling in the ratings in recent weeks.
Because of the show's success, it was also announced that a special episode will air this coming Thursday (June 26), titled "Mou Hitotsu no Last Friends."

Based on the pattern they've been using, more Sousuke DV scenes. I'm tempted to skip episode 11 and just use my imagination. Everyone lives happily in the sharehouse, Ruka wins her race and decides she's a woman, grows her hair out and becomes a geisha.

About the last episode and a little on episode 10..

About Sousuke's death. I seriously didn't feel any sympathy towards the guy when he was looking at the pictures. My only thought was, "What?! Now you're realizing it?" I'm usually soft with evil bad guys realizing their faults in the end but definitely not him. It just didn't feel right. Maybe because I don't want him to die and be sympathize with after all his done. So, in short and sorry if I'm being harsh, I think was lame.
I made sure I didn't read any of your comments so I wouldn't be influence. ;P
The ending was OK but I think it was rushed. No. It WAS rushed! The press conference was good. Ruka's speech was really cool and the scene with Ruka and Eri was "awww" sweet. And then, the wedding. I'm sorry to say this but it was then Ruka looks good on that suit? That's a suit right? Again, the TakeRuka scene was nice(props to Juri-san and Eita ). Like an old couple! That's nice of you to say Ruka! And Ruka looking at Takeru then smiling was really heart-warming. I was frustrated at the length of the switching-scene from Michiru washing then Takeru and Ruka on the bike. "Oh come on! Just get on with it!" was my reaction. Then the truck came. I actually didn't expect that but it didn't get much reaction on me anyway. Just "Huh?". I didn't think much of it then before I knew it, she was alright. "She's fine. Haha!" Again and again and again, Ruka was really cool when she talk some sense into Michiru. That she would still like to be by her side no matter what.
I was just wondering. Is it just me or is Masami's mouth looks really awkward. It shows when she's crying. And the labor scene also. I thought her acting was not that good in that scene specially when I noticed her mouth. Her tongue is kind of awkward in it??? I must be crazy noticing weird stuff like this but it just BUGS me.
The baby was cute. "It's your papa." Nice Takeru! The scene in the ocean was warm but a little awkward on some parts. Oh well! We have a happy threesome anyway. Michiru even named it RUMI from the their names. Haha! Haha.. Hehe.. Heh..
That's it about episode 11.
They managed to make a not-so-scandalous, safe, a little crappy, happy ending. It wasn't emotionally-shaking. It was ok. But I feel dissatisfies with it. No closure was made between Ruka and Michiru. No talk about it because no matter how awkward it is, they should talk about it just like Takeru and Ruka did with theirs.
All in all. Last Friends was good(with a potential to be great)but disappointing.

That was the most fake blood I've ever seen!! It was dripping like water!! Stupid! And I thought Japan was advance! They could have made it more realistic!!

About Ryo as an actor, I'm not bashing Ryo or anything but it's just I don't think his role is that hard to portray. Sousuke don't need that much facial expressions(always a straight serious face) and emotion that I think Ryo didn't had much trouble acting him. So, for me, Ryo was ok but not amazing or awesome. He was GOOD portraying the not-so-hard-to-portray-Sousuke. Ok? Give the guy some credit! Haha!

It might be my imagination, but it appears that all the guys who have watched this drama have seen holes and various other problems, whereas the gals are oblivious or unconcerned...
HEY! I'm a "gal" too. Right on! I am like that before but the critic-virus got me! I think I'm really a critic at heart but I'm the type that don't know how to point out flaws. I feel unsatisfied with something and wouldn't know what so I'll just brush it off like it was nothing and continue watching(before). _________________

hmm.... I realised many people are either criticising Sousuke (he deserved it anyway) or cheering on for Ruka and Takeru...
But I thought that Ogura guy deserved some credit too... I think he deserved to be part of the 5 main characters rather than Sousuke... Ogura character provided a lot of entertainment and comic relief for me while watching the (already bad) drama... his character is 1000 times more interesting than Sousuke... _________________

LOL.
Let's see how many weird and creative scenarios we can come up with for the SP... The people over at D-Addicts have been fantasizing since Episode 1...
