She gets better and better as the series progresses. At first she reminded me of her Nana role. But right around the episodes you are going into she morphed into the princess role with gusto. I can't get enough of this series. One of the best roles she has ever had. As someone said it is reminiscent of an asadora. I agree and I'm glad it's so. I have missed the asadoras since ch 18 decided to kill them with stupid replacements, although they have done very well in bringing this great drama to us.
It's amusing to note that in other forums, this drama holds great attention and discussion in very positive veins. For instance on the Runboard forum:

I guess the folks there are more into this type of taiga where it's more of a story line than historical correctness.... I know for me this is the only type of taiga I could watch and enjoy.

For me, I don't care if it has historical inaccuracies... as long as it's entertaining. And Aoi-chan certainly is that. She has such a spark, it's no wonder she was loved so much for Nana.

Okay. A couple of episodes into "Mystery Folklorist"
http://www.jdorama.com/drama.852.htm
and I'm already forming an opinion. It's not very good.
It's sort of like a group of people wanted to make a series that was sort of like "Trick". Only they decided to do it without spending any money, or employing anyone with any talent.
Aside from that, it's just like "Trick".
Oh and re Cori's comments on the subs on my retail version of the series. They are gawdawful. _________________ Manga is to Literature

I love his robot collection.

While on vacation I finished up Seikei Bijin. Great series overall which I generally really enjoyed. I thought the last couple of episodes were pretty weak though and dragged the series down a notch or two for being utterly predictable and thin. Definitely recommended, but not as strong as it started out.
I started Lunch No Jouu (watched the first four eps) and I absolutely loved the first episode - grabbed me like nothing else! I thought the end of the fourth ep. was a little sad - the brother's declaration (Koshiro, I think) was so incredibly cliche.
Another vote for Tsumabuki Satoshi from me - he's doing great so far.
And Takeuchi Yuko may have the best smile on the planet She's a really cool character! So adorable!! _________________ "Actually, I don't have bones. I'm supported

Pride is probably her best work. Takeuchi and Kimura are pretty unbeatable combination.
