I'm not watching ANY of them until I know subs will be completed. I'm still waiting for subs for 2 eps of Monster Parent Grumble

But I will definitely watch Kaze no Garden IF the subs get completed.

Monster Parent...wasn't that one of the crappier series this year? Sweat

And I think Kaze no Garden sounds good so I'm definitely going to keep my eye out on that one.

so, you guys probably get this question a lot: "whats good lately?"

i used to be hardcore into j-dramas until life got in the way. i've been able to sporadically watch some here and there - Kurosagi, Densha Otoko, Koi ni Ochitara, etc.

what other "must see" is there out there? im not picky on the types of shows i see. i like ones "with a twist" i guess.

i guess to make your job simpler, im looking for something that came out in the past couple of years...

a list of what i've seen (you may opt to ignore this it may get long):
Forbidden Love
Kinpachi Sensei
Shopping Hero
Kurosagi
Densha Otoko (I have the R2 box if anyone needs raws)
Koi ni Ochitara
Gokusen
thats all off the top of my head though i've probably seen more thanks to the local japanese station (KIKU TV)

your helps appreciated

Aibou 7, of course! w00t!

Seriously though, not sure what to think of SCANDAL yet. OL Nippon is kinda ehhh... Haven't watched Kaze no Garden, or Team Batista, even though I've downloaded it. The latter probably won't get subbed either and since it's a medical drama, there's no way I 'm going to attempt it. bleh

Most of this season seems pretty bad IMO.

Aw, hell yeah. I love the Aibou series. Don't know if I really want to watch Aibou 7 before I watch the other ones because of

Oh. I forgot about Team Batista. So I guess with all the medical stuff no one is going to touch that one. I probably would be reluctant to watch it too since I'm pretty squeamish. Sweat

Yes, yes it was, it was terrible. The only reason I watched it was for Ryoko, and I'm sure a lot of people only watched it to see her.

How sad when actors who had pretty good dramas now have to act in shows as a teacher (I'm looking at you too, Yukie!) Shake Head

Is there something with heavy comedy that's come out in the past 2 years? I haven't watched much of anything recent.

True of Yukie, but Ryoko-chan wasn't a teacher in Monster Parent Beat You

Teachers are not necessarily bad roles to take on, I think it has more to do with the script more than anything else. Although after GTO, it's hard to gain a favourable impression in comparison.

I am not exactly sure what you meant by heavy comedy. But a lot of people like Seigi no Mikata and Yasuko and Kenji, so maybe you can try them.

Gosh there are so many, you like police dramas Gonzo or Galileo, comedy and fluff Seigi no Mikata and Zettai Kareshi. Maybe H2 or Rookies for sports/highschool dramas. Proposal Daisakusen if you like Yamashita Tomohisa. Also check out previous pages of this thread, itLll give you some ideas Victory! Peace!

Ashita no Kita Yoshio and Gonzo are the only ones I can think of. If you don't mind it being a little older, Unfair is also a good one.

Awesome, another Hawaii person. Victory! Peace! Are you watching Freezing Point (Sundays @ 9)? That one's a dark drama with sort of a twist. Partners (Thursdays @ 8 and 9) is a good detective drama with some twists at the end of some episodes. And they showed Grand Family (Karei naru Ichizoku) last year or earlier this year, which had a huge twist at the end.

Haha, Koi no Kiseki is another one. Mr Green

Hello Everyone,

Just finished watching Nodame Cantabile - Special Edition and found it funny and a nice way to continue the story. My wife loved it! She will be going to Japan next month and I will join her in Jan. '09 and we'll return home together.

Anyway, I'll be a bachlor for about a month and was wondering what JDorama you would recommend with a cute, attractive female lead? Dancing A more mature drama is what I'm looking for, so no highschool ones. "Attention Please" looks interesting and I think there is a JDorama about a tall girl that becomes a fashion modal, and another one with a girl working at a hostess bar.

Anyway, my favorite JDorama's are Glow of the fire fly, Unmarried man, At home Dad to name a few. But a JDorama with pretty female adult lead(s) would be nice to see.

Thanks in advance! Applaud
