I want to ask you guys something....Mr Green
Korean drama called "The Man Who Can't Get Married" was a drama adapted from "Kekkon Dekinai Otoko" right???
is it good????

I love Kekkon Dekinai Otoko itself...and wonder how did Korean make this drama???

is it same as "Boys Over Flower" from "Hana Yori Dango"???

Korean version of Hiroshi Abe's character is a little bit more normal guy, more social, more friendly with female doctor (and he dress unrealisticly stylish, damn the korean beauty standards bleh ). Also drama itself is akin to standart korean rom-com dramas, so in general it is not exactly the same with original, it is definitely korealized. Personally I like "Kekkon Dekinai Otoko" much more, it is more interesting but korean version has its moments too.

Yeah, it was an easy/light watch, hardly any angst in the show. Though, I thought the ending was rather weak.

I've just finished Harvest Villa, that was an interesting ride.

First it started like a standart korean romantic comedy, goofy guy and pretty girl thing. But you could sense that something else is going on, something is not right. Then it turned into a black comedy with a lot of mystery, and then after some revelations about characters it dropped all the comedy and finished like a Film-Noir/Thriller.

As a person who loves plot twists, I'm overjoyed with twists in here. This show is pre-produced, pre-written before the shooting and airing the episodes so there is a very solid, very well written story. Especially after things become serious, the last noir/thriller part was breathtaking. I'm trying to not give spoilers but this drama needs a little bit patience to see it's true face (like the characters in it) and it is definetly rewarding to see how the story unfolds. I must admit that "the bad guy" in this drama is one of the most sinister, evil bad guy I ever saw in a fiction.

Watching Coffee House! It's hilarious! Something about it reminds me of j-drama...

I think for a long time now I've been dismissing k-drama as all about terminal illnesses and sappy-sap-sap, but recently I found I'm wrong. I guess I was too narrow-minded and it's a plus that k-dramas are branching out recently!

Ooh, just wanted to say, the people in k-dramas are all really sharp dressers Nut

This is the one starring Kang Ji-hwan? Well, KJH is my Kdrama man, so where he goes, I follow (and complete his oeuvre while I'm at it, lol). Will def. give this drama a go once all the subs are out. Thanks for the rec. Victory! Peace!

I thought it was weak because to me it felt like the writer/director didn't how to end the show, so they decided to use a bunch of K-drama cliches in one ep. Maybe two if you count the second to last ep.

apparently, this drama seems to be a combination of My Name is Kim Sam Soon and Full House

1. Older woman + Younder hot guy
2. Hopeless girl + clean freak guy
3. Woman was betrayed by ex love
4. living at the same house

but yes, it brings nostalgia ... Lee Min Ho did great and he's so much good looking here than in BOF

I just recently finished Mr. Goodbye. I loved it. It moved kinda quickly, which in my experience, is somewhat rare for Korean dramas. The main guy completely stole the show.

I'm 7 episodes into Harvest Villa and I do not want it to end.

So far I'm being very strict with my one episode per day rule. I wonder how long that will last?

Although I don't know if I agree with it, I've put it to practice many a time: rules are meant to be broken. Wink

Tomorrow I'll be starting Personal Taste. I heard it's very much like My Lovely Kim Sam Soon, so I'm excited. w00t!

ep 7 of Green Rose. I had to watch the first episode twice. Too many characters at one time... I could not keep track of them. A big shock when I finally realized it was Lee Da Hae. So different from previous roles. But in a good way. As you know for me beauty is a big part of any good drama or I should say a part that makes a drama good and worth watching... She looks so beautiful, angelic in this drama that I can't stop gazing at her. It's taking me longer to watch this as I'm doing the final authoring as I download the episodes. Usually I watch the episodes before I author them. Also the original scale/aspect ratio was so mismatched that it took a long time to find the proper ratio to bring it back to a reasonable DVD format. That naturally means longer rendering times also.

Oh yes.... the drama. It is very intense, suspenseful and well developed... enjoying it to the utmost. It does tend to drag in parts which is normal for Korean dramas to fill the 22 episodes.

Wyn chan you will get a copy soon. I'm getting so wrapped up in this, I'm not even taking time out to watch portions of Swallow The Sun again.

Wynter,
I am delighted you liked 'MR GOODBYE' I saw it a long time ago and loved it. The lead actor was my very first Korean 'crush' He is Ahn Jae Wook and he still looks good. Saw him when he was a guest at a wedding recently. I have his face as my avatar on another site. I was very much pleased with an earlier drame he did with Son Yu Nah. They became an item but something happened and she broke it off. He has kept a torch going for her ever since and has not married himself although she has married not too long ago. He was very sexy in that drama called BAD BOYS.
He has several albums and is a very good singer. He did concerts in China years ago and they love him. He was in business in China mainland before it was the fashionable thing to do when Korean stars went to Japan. He did all his dancing with a chorus and in his bare feet. He said he felt the rhythm better that way. He was tireless.
Well I guess you didn't expect all this . Shake Head ...so I will now shut up...

Peg

Ep 12 Green Rose. The rippers are giving me a fit. Now suddenly instead of AVI source they have interspersed with RMVB rips. And as if that is not enough, they added hard coded BIG Chinese subs. So now I'm forced to increase the size and instensity of my English subs and addiditionally I have to raise them higher on the screen to prevent trying to read them with Chinese script behind them...
Add to that the Korean penchant for adding horizontal scroll bars with news that nobody reads every half hour or so and the screen begins to look like a fireworks display. Shameful Cry
What a lousy thing to do knowing that I'm now hopelessly engrossed in the drama and will finish it no matter the obstacles the rippers can throw in my face. U Suck
