Georgia Factory Provides China With 2 Million Chopsticks A Day
China's population of 1.3 billion has a lot of mouths to feed, and a lot of chopsticks to use. That's why the country recently looked to the city of Americus, Georgia (population: 17,000) to help produce the country's utensil of choice. Americus, home to poplar tree and sweet gum trees that "grow like weeds" (via Eater) provide the right balance of hardness and softness for producing chopsticks.
Georgia Chopsticks, the only chopsticks manufacturer in the U.S., was created in November and the Americus plant opened in May. It is already producing two million chopsticks per day that are being shipped to China, Japan, Korea and the United States. Over the past few months, there has been a huge increase in demand.
When the plant becomes fully staffed, the plant owner anticipates being able to produce 10 million chopsticks per day. Perhaps in the future the poplar tree and sweet gum trees might not grow like weeds anymore...
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- A public health official in central Missouri has asked an ice cream shop to cool it with the cicada ice cream, even though customers apparently can't get enough of it.
Sparky's Homemade Ice Cream in Columbia, Mo., sold out of its only batch of the insect-filled dessert within hours of its June 1 debut.
The Columbia-Missourian says employees collected the cicadas in their backyards and removed most of the dead bugs' wings. They then boiled the bugs and covered them in brown sugar and milk chocolate. The base ice cream is brown sugar and butter flavor.
Gerry Worley, an environmental health chief with the Columbia County Department of Public Health, says the agency's food code "doesn't directly address cicadas" and that he has advised against their use as an ingredient.

That has Andrew Zimmern of Bizzare Foods fame all over it. I think I'll pass though.
Women Steal $600 Of Gouda And Blue Cheese Wheels From Oregon Whole Foods
Two women stole about $600 worth of gourmet cheese from a Bend, Oregon Whole Foods by simply asking for a box and walking out of the store. Their bounty included a $300 wheel of nine-month aged Gouda, and two wheels of blue cheese worth $270.
It seems almost too easy. The women walk into the store, pick up the Gouda wheel and ask for a box, which an employee provides. They box up the wheel, snatch two wheels of blue cheese, one walks to the register and the other leaves with the dairy.
Despite being caught on camera, the women are still at large, though police are investigating leads. So if anyone in the Bend, Oregon area happens to attend a party with a serious amount of cheese...

Hehe.
Sorry.
I ate at El Pollo Inka today and inhaled the Ceviche de Pescado and some Saltado de Pollo without rice...and then busted my a$$ on a second cardio workout for the day to make up for it. ---->

I didn't take a picture because my cellphone is being serviced at the moment and I got a Blackberry as a temporary phone in the interim...that shiet licks the sweat off a dead man's balls. No wonder Research in Motion is losing market share year over year.
