Beautiful example of the "howcatchem" genre (as opposed to the more usual "whodunit"), it reminded me a lot of the first seasons of "Columbo" - though this was even better! A funny but oh-so-smart character perfectly portrayed by Tamura Masakazu, some nice comic relief provided by Nishimura Masahiko, great plots and dialogues, nice directing, some great guest stars....to cut it short, a must watch. Oh, and let's not forget about that brilliant, jazzy musical score! A perfect 10 all way through! ^____^ |

Overall, with the exception of 2 or 3 cases, I didn't find the deduction/crime solving especially interesting. What stood out more for me was the circumstances/psychological aspects during the murders and subsequent investigations.
Episode 12 was extremely well thought-out, actually most of the episodes were very well-planned. The complexity in this drama is quite an achievement considering it is completely episodic. |

LOVED this series when it was playing! I would rate it 10 then and 10 now. Tamura Masakazu before Furuhata was playing airheaded leading men, but was finally able to see his charm in this comic role.EXCELLENT! |
