Anyone seen Ergo Proxy? It started here on TV last night. Unfortunately at the same time as Dancing With The Stars and NCIS, so I couldn't get near a TV to watch it :(

Also on last night was Neoin. Not sure what to think of it yet. :bonk:

i've seen it :)

it's really good. a cyber-punk anime. kinda like GiTS. but less political issues and more psychological issues and also some philosophical ones. you should watch it. it has a very non-japanese feeling but in a good way. you can see it from the characters and music (of course the setting isn't in japan :hehe: )

Cool, thanks. I loved GITS. and GITS:SAC. I'm gonna download it from Veoh :)

it was too much for me at the end... the second half is a whole different anime.

Spoiler — click to revealstart focusing on Vincent Law instead of Ri-L. (<- does that even need spoiler tags?)

I searched the forums but didn't find any results on Nanoha or Magical Lyrical Girl Nanoha.

Despite what the name may suggest it isn't a kids show and does not have any romance.

Also, there are 3 seasons of Nanoha:
1. Nanoha - Season 1 - 13 episodes
2. Nanoha A's - Season 2 - 13 episodes
3. Nanoha StrikerS - Season 3 - 26 episodes
To avoid confusing, think of each season not as a "season" but a different series. There is no "Nanoha episode 14", the first episode of season 2 is "Nanoha A's episode 1". And the first episode of Nanoha season 3 is "Nanoha StrikerS episode 1".

Of the 3 seasons, I'd recommend anyone who is interested watch "Nanoha A's"(Season 2) first. Season 1 starts off pretty slow IMO, you can watch season 1 AFTER you watch season 2. Season 3 takes place 10 whole years after Season 2, so season 3 should be watched last.

Now, you might wonder "What if I do like season 1 and want to watch it first." Well, if you're interested in the series, I can explain the good things that Season 1 has and what might take you into the series. Season 1 has a lot of "emotional stuff" that might make you cry(if you're a pretty sensitive person that is). If you like emotional and teary stuff, then start with Season 1 but remember, it does start off really slow.

Personally, I did "almost" cry at some parts in season 1. Season 2 is more "action" focused and has less talk, less emotional stuff, more fight.

Also, Nanoha is Japanese only currently but of course had fan subs which you can download on torrent. I think you can find fan sub video uploaded on Crunchyroll too though I haven't checked in a while. Youtube, maybe someone has them uploaded also.

Edit:I found someone who uploaded the first 6 episodes of Nanoha A's to a video streaming site(AKA you don't have to download).

Watch the first 2 episodes and if you like, watch the rest. The first two episodes are at the bottom of the page btw.

Ignore this part below if you're going to watch the first 2 episodes of A's:
Now to get you interested in the show, I am going to link to some "parody" videos involving Nanoha.

They show off some action/fighting scenes in Nanoha which may get you interested:

1. MGS3/Nanoha parody - Contains spoilers for the first season of Nanoha. Don't worry too much about the spoilers unless you're interested in Nanoha and are willing to watch Season 1 first. Also, the parody itself might not make any sense at all unless you played MGS3. It does show what Nanoha has to offer, doesn't really contain any "fighting scenes" but does show all the characters.

This is the one that I recommend, mainly because I never knew about Nanoha or got into Nanoha until I saw that MGS3 parody.

2. Nanoha ace combat Nanoha + Ace combat parody, shows Nanoha fighting scenes using Ace Combat sounds.

3. Nanoha 300 parody. Doesn't really have any fight scenes but I do say it's well done.

There are more parodies but those are the 3 I can think of right now.

Watch a video first, if you aren't satisfied, I can actually explain what Nanoha is like and why I like Nanoha instead of just linking you the videos but ask.

finished Darker Than Black. not my kind of anime. i thought there would be more action in it, guess i'm wrong.
And i hate the 2 episode sub-plot format. the link between the sub-plots should have been stronger.
Not a fan of the theme songs either. And the BGM was too jazzy IMO.
Nothing special. Even the story.

Where did you watch it? I stopped at ep 10 because they took it off of Crunchyroll. I liked OP1 but then again I like ABS. If you saw it online can you give me the website please.

NANA is the best anime I've ever seen ...

Nodame Cantabile is pretty good but I prefer the TV Drama better.

I normally don't watch animes (the list of animes I've seen can be counted with one hand). However, I'm looking to find something as intriguing as Death Note was (I like the whole psychological aspect of it). Let me know if there is something out there like it ^_^

Note: Typical stuff I don't like would include naruto, inuyasha etc. etc. the typical Japanese anime/manga stuff that you get here in the states. (most are centered towards a young audience and lacks intellectual content).
