From what I've seen so far of the major season animes...

Allison to Lillia - Good story so far. more classic animation looking, which i like.
Code Geass - Decent, but seems more melancholy, which I dont like.
Itzaura na Kiss - Annoying girl trying to get boy. Comical, but on the sappy side.
Kanokon - ecchi harem, really echhi. did I mention eecchi?
Kyouran Kazoku Nikki - Annoying female lead. Promising storyline, but annoying lead.
Soul Eater - Good concept, i like the lead female voice, it's completely different and refreshing. Plot may be on the thin side.
Special A - vaguely reminds me of School Rumble w/ a bit of Haruhi and Ouran mixed in...
Vampire Knight - plot is accelerated, will probably deviate from manga shortly. Looking like it'll head in the Zombie Loan direction.
Wagaya no Oinari-sama - Furry ecchi harem action..
xxxHolic Kei - Continuation of 1st season, bit more serious so far.

Checking out an odd anime called Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Dark. Really dark comedy.

Finished Koi Kaze.
I was surprised how much I liked this series.
Quiet and slow paced, dealing with incest.
And I loved the characters.....
You just never know... :shakehead:

"Ghost in the Shell" to go 3-D
Tue, April 15, 2008 (10:26am EDT)
Variety reports that DreamWorks has acquired rights to Masamune Shirow's cyberpunk manga "Ghost in the Shell" and is aiming to adapt it as a 3-D live-action film.

The comic was originally published in 1989 and spawned two additional manga series, three animated films, and two television series. The second film, "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence," was brought to the U.S. by DreamWorks.

Universal and Sony reportedly also sought the movie rights, but Steven Spielberg ultimately won out. He said, "'Ghost in the Shell' is one of my favorite stories. It's a genre that has arrived, and we enthusiastically welcome it to DreamWorks."

Seaside Entertainment's Avi Arad, Ari Arad, and Steven Paul are producing. Jamie Moss is handling the script. No production dates have been revealed yet.

The last anime (movie; I don't watch series) I watched was The Girl Who Leapt through Time (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo), which I highly recommend.

I started watching Haibane Renmei again. Such a great story, and while it is slow-paced it's something I'd recommend to others.

If anybody likes big budget anime films with superb animation, good storytelling, and great action I highly recommend Sword of the Stranger starring Tomoya Nagase as voice actor of the principal character.

Great film. Highly entertaining.

It was fun to watch. Not overly philosophical or anything but lots of action and superb animation.

Alrighty, since runpup and I were already discussing it, who else has seen A Little Snow Fairy Sugar? Insanely cute, it may not be for everyone, but I found it to be a very enjoyable anime. A simple story of friendship, with a lot of light-hearted comedy thrown in.

Nice :victory: Makes me want to cue up the opening song. I'm glad I gave the anime a chance because at first glance it looked way too kawaii, but it turned out pretty well.

pretty good, superb animation like you said, decent amount of action too. plot was a little predicable for my taste, but it was a good popcorn movie.

Yeah, that's a fair read, and I agree with that...

I saw most of it. Quite Charming.
Haibane was a lovely piece.

We just checked out the beginning of Kin Orda, about music students.
Was not on the level of the catchy original storyline of Nodame. Seemed OK though.

I just saw 5 Centimeters Per Second, a lovely collection of 3 short stories centered around a young boy's passage into adulthood. It's really moving and fairly emotional in many scenes. The title of the movie is a metaphor about life....the animation is very colorful and really quite exceptional. A stirring tale about a boy and a girl.

Highly recommended! Very much like a dorama, to be honest. About an hour in length.

It's fairly short but it is great, Eve. I'm pretty confident you'll enjoy it....I was really surprised by how impactful it was despite being a series of short stories...much better at conveying emotion than lots of dramas that I've seen, to be honest.

Time Girl....finally! Cool...it's a fun ride.

I've watched the first two episodes of Haibane Renmei again, and I'll be watcing Ep.3. I like to go back and watch it every once in a while.

Kin Orda, I haven't heard of that since I don't follow anime as much as I used to, but I'll be sure to check it out. Is it classical music like Nodame, or a different genre?
