an easy way to defeat the trolls is to use a magic and run away to your mana fills back up and continue.

Make sure you use the turpentine that the painter gave you as poison on a weapon. It knocks about half the health of a troll down. If you've got ranged weapons or magic, use that. If worse comes to worse and you don't want to start a new game, turn down the difficulty slider.

Yea, I know about the turpentine, but I find I use about two bottles per troll, which means I'm gonna run out pretty soon. :shamefulcry:My character has no skill with range tools, and magic doesn't effect it much. I'll keep trying tho. I need a tactic...
hi guys...
just wanna ask if you have any news about Suikoden VI??
I haven't heard any news yet since it's last release of Suikoden V..
uhm...I really like RPG games...any recommendation??

Wynter, make sure you use block too, even if that's not one of your character's main skills, it absorbs some damage still. If you time yourself right, you can avoid being hit by running backwards and then attack the troll. It'll take a while, but it'll still work.
Also:
Buraian, I'm sure keps and Wynter could point you in the right direction :). I'm mostly a fan of American style rpgs...like Oblivion and Mass Effect.

If you go back to where the painter is standing, try climbing over the rocks and hills behind him, and keep as far to the edge of the map as you can. There's a hidden way there. I think you can avoid all the trolls except the one guarding the paintbrush on the thief's body.Buraian, I'm sure keps and Wynter could point you in the right direction :). lost odyssey i heard was pretty good if you have and xbox 360
Wynter wrote:
Are you still the same character?
Yeah. When I started again, I chose to be a Breton, but my strength in combat seemed very much less than that of a Redguard, so I decided to go back to that.
I couldn't even get out of the prison alive as a Breton. :puppydog:
I wish I could get a screencap of my character, as I'd like to have her as my avatar. She has this very fetching green dress.
Re: painting task - I just acquired that quest today. Gulp. I might have a go at it (even though I think I need to improve my lowly spell-making skills), just to see what its like. :victory:

Hi buraian, sorry I am very new to RPG's. I'm playing Oblivion, and that's my first serious one.
But, like everyone else who's played it, I love it and would highly recommend it.
I've heard of Suikoden, but that's all I know - its name. Gomen.

Well, what RPGs have you played that you like so I have an idea of your tastes? I could just name ones I like but I don't think that'll do you any good.
Do you like action RPGs vs turn based vs strategy? Do you like long, complicated plots? Do you like a linear story or lots of side quests? Does the Game Over screen inspire you to try again or give up?
I did the painter quest! The fourth troll killed me twice, but I was ok apart from that. I took rests to replenish my health bar, though (is that cheating?).
My character has strong combat abilities, so I'm sure that helped hugely.
I only used 3 of the turpentines.
I also used some of my inherent spells - I summoned skeletons, which helped distract the trolls for a few moments. :dancing:
I am now on the Henantier's dreamworld quest, but I think I'm going to have to leave it until I get stronger. I died three times already, and the quest seems impossible for now.

Sugoi! You play fast! lol It took my weeks to get to that quest. Mind you, I explore quite a bit.
I'm still playing Enchanted Arms... I'm starting to get impatient.
Well, you guys talking about Oblivion made me fire up the game again after a 1.5 year hiatus. I finally finished the "Battle for Castle Kvatch" quest and only then did I realized that it is an optional quest. I thought I had to finished it to keep the main story going, and I was getting killed the first time I tried it (the Frost Atronachs were toasting me with a few hits) and ended up taking a break from the game.
Edit: Later I realized that there is a 1.2 patch for the game so I got it. That promptly broke one of my favortie mods. Search for awhile and find an upgrade to the mod that works with 1.2. One of the mod extras breaks the graphics.... Figure out which of the extras did the breaking and FOUR hours later, the game seems back to normal.
Ah, the joys of computers.

What level are you? I'm level 1, but if I can sleep in a bed, I can get to the next level. The only trouble is, I have to do the Henantier quest if I sleep. Grrr.
I saw a trailer for Eternal Sonata recently - apparently, it's coming to PS3. :)

Yay Madoka! :dancing: What character/level etc are you? I'd love to know.
Battle Of Kvatch? I think it was there that I saw my first (and only) Oblivion gate. I don't feel ready to takle any of those yet, so I left it. :beaten:
Tonight I battled loads of Savage Trolls in some mine system. They are vulnerable to flares, so I roasted most of them.
I got a picture of my details and character. Had to use a camera on the tv, as I don't think there's any way to get screencaps off a PS3 otherwise.

Grand pic! I actually don't remember what level I was at. Three or Four, I think... Mebbe I'll play some tomorrow!
Right now I'm half way through Enchanted Arms. The story is very good and I'm enjoying it. I'm even getting used to all the battling. :woot:
I'm still trundling away with FFX. I decided to stop levelling my characters up and move on with the story :P
Keps wrote:Yay Madoka! :dancing: What character/level etc are you? I'd love to know.
I play a custom class female Breton. I picked the major skills I liked and went from there. I play a modified verson of Oblivion where how I level and the level of the people and creatures I meet have been changed. Also, my skills take 3 times as long to go up.
My character is basically a heavy fighter, now at level 11. She just became the Master of the Fighters Guild. I restarted from a game before I started Kvatch.
Health 207, Magicka 168, Fatigue 288.
Majors: Armorer 50, Blade 64, Block 51, Heavy Armor 69, Destruction 59, Illusion 34, Marksman 29.
I took a screenshot but my ISP host keeps saying it's not available for some reason.

Thanks! Maybe if you start Oblivion again, you could post a screenshot of your character? I'm so nosey. :hehe:
Glad you are finally enjoying Enchanted Arms. :victory:

Aw, that sucks about the screenshot. :puppydog:
I notice your health/magicka and fatigue counts are way above mine - due to levelling up?
I like the idea of having a custom character, but I need to be much more familiar with the game, like you are.
Wow, Master of the Fighters' Guild? I am sooo far from anything like that.
When I started the game as a Breton, I was shocked at how much more easily I took damage from creatures. Well, compared to my Redguard.
Anyway, I did the Henantier quest today (well, finished it). I was so angry afterwards though, when I woke up in the room I had rented in an inn - I was locked in, with no lockpick or unlocking spells. :banghead:
So, I had to return to a save before that, and go to Henantier's house, where I could sleep in bed next to him. Fortunately, already knowing what to do, I did the quest quite quickly, but the Test Of Patience was just that (grrrrrrr).
I stopped playing then, so I haven't levelled up yet. Looking forward to doing that soon. :dancing:

Yes, your stats will go up when you level up. Endurance governs your max health when you level; Intelligence affects your total Magicka; Willpower affects how fast Magicka regenerates; Strength, Willpower, Agility, and Endurance affect your max Fatigue. I also have some equipment that raises my atributes.
My save got corrupted so I had to restart from a game before she became the Master of the Fighters Guild....
Ok, I think I got the screens to work.

Wowwwwww! Your character looks fabulous! That armour! You're much more nicely attired than me!
Very very impressive stats. I can only aspire to be that good one day.
What's the meaning of your class name?
How come your map is in colour? Is that another mod?
Mine's just sort of varying shades of brown...
Can I have mods on my PS3, I wonder?
Lol, sorry for all the questions.
Thank you for posting these great pictures, Madoka! :victory:
I'm now on level 3. I cranked up the difficulty bar, as I thought making it a little harder would be good. I'm presuming where the bar is as default is on a normal difficulty setting....
I need to learn about spell craft and speechcraft. I have no idea how to make potions, and the art of persuading has me at a loss.
I'm going to look at those soon. I have the Apron Of Adroitment (sp?), and it needs reparing, but I'm not skilled enough in magic.
Awwwww you guys are making me want to kick myself for having taken a break from Oblivion. :shamefulcry:

Don't you love the titles they give to things in RPG's? I can just imagine a male character sporting "The Underpants of Huge Genitalia" :hehe:
