I thought there were harder bosses - that's why I know the game's not one I'll buy - just because I'd never get to see most of it, lol. Even though I adore the look the the game.

Just curious - have you played DMC3? I read that's the hardest one in the series.

Lol, thanks for the good wishes. If I do beat him, I reckon it's gonna take a looong time. :hehe:

I read about someone recently who got DMC3, and they couldn't get past the first boss, Cerberus. They spent hours, but just couldn't manage it. Reading that totally scared me out of ever considering it.

Lol! This guy I read about spent hours on "easy" setting, and kept getting killed. Something about he couldn't avoid the teeth and claws. :hehe:

Hey, I don't know why I'M laughing at this - I bet I couldn't do any better.
I couldn't even beat Amanda in Tomb Raider, and I bet she's easier than any DMC boss. :hehe:

The thing about these games... they are designed so that you CAN beat them, so you should be able to do it somehow. It's just a matter of knowing the right way of going about it :)

Oooh, get you! :nyah:

Seriously: There's a megaboss in FFX that most people won't even get to see, let alone fight. I was reading about the hours of preparation that this one person put in just to try and beat it.... they must have a LOT of spare time.

Hehe. I wouldn't go so far as hours of planning.
What makes me give up is when I can't beat a boss, I get really worked up and angry. So I do it to stop myself from keeping losing my temper when I fail.
Like with Amanda. I haven't spent ages and ages trying to beat her, but I hated the wound-up feeling I got when I tried.

You found a TR game hard, but DMC ok?
I thought TR games were not meant to be so bad as other games. Mind you, the controls in the TR games (on PS2, anyway), I've found really awful.

Some of the puzzles I found hard - so I cheated and went online for help, lol.

They were talking about say 30-40 hours just levelling up, making enough money to buy equipment etc.

I'd probably throw my controller through the tv if I had to spend so long on something like that.
Still, if others get pleasure from it, well, that's the whole point of games, isn't it?

Yeah, I doubt I would go to that extreme. You need to know the game to know exactly what they were trying to do, but let's say it's only for the obsessed... I just re-read a bit of what was written... they spent over 150 hours on the game :banghead:

Umm... just got to Guadosalam... but i've spent some time levelling up Rikku, since her HP is so low when she joins.

Oh, you're doing very well. Better than I was doing at that time. I'm generally a slow RPGer.

Keps wrote:What were the graphics like on your PC? I read in a magazine that Oblivion looks best on the PS3...but then it was a Play Station magazine, so they may be somewhat biased, roflmao.

The graphic are great. I got the game before HDTVs were as common as they are now, so back then the graphics were better than the consoles. I could run at a high resolution (for that time 1280x960) and turn on AA and AF. I would get 100 fps inside and about 40 outside.

One really nice thing about the PC version is player mods. I don't know if you can add them to the XBox or PS3 versions. The user interfaace was very clunkly for a PC, as you sat closer to the screen on a PC, the big text look horrible. And at the higher resolutions, you can get more info per page. So someone changed the interface to give a 360 degree compass at the bottom that was smaller. The cursor and fonts also became smaller. All your skills could be displayed at once, etc.

I added female armor and a home for myself. I had done the same in Morrowind.

One thing about Oblivion I read about that I didn't like was the leveled loot. Also, the world would level with you which I didn't like. I don't know if they fixed that for the console versions.

Ooh Madoka, that's too technical for me.
I really do know very little about electronic stuff.

I don't know about the levelling yet. I played again tonight, but spent most of my time enjoying exploring areas. Although, I did complete a quest. :victory:

As it was time for me to save and turn off, I was laden down with too many items, so I couldn't move. I didn't know how to get rid of the excess quickly, lol, so will have to work it out tomorrow.

Tried Berial again in DMC4 - another fail. *sniff* :shamefulcry:

Heh. I used to have that problem with Baldur's Gate 2 - too many items you could potentially carry, and if you had too much, you couldn't move :banghead: I used to just find a particular place to stash it all that I could go back to. Dunno if you can do that in your game, though.
