 Funny!
I'll have to say that winning battles in FFX is nothing like that. Usually the beaten "monster" or whatever will just wither away, or get knocked over or off screen.. It's also quite a long game, i'm over 20 hours in and only about 1/4 of the way through, or at least I think so.
Hehe. When I had FFXII, I didn't even get to a monster. :puppydog:
There are some big ones on R & C, but they're not too noisy or bloody.
I actually think they are bloodless monsters.
Yeah, every time you kill a man in Tenchu, it's quite disconcerting.
Also, when you do a stealth kill - that is, creep up and grab a guy before he knows what's hit him - you get this slow-motion killing scene. Eek.
Stevie wrote:Anyone play the NEW DevilMayCry4 game yet???
I played it and OMG its sooooooo good!!!
It looks great, but too hard for me! I played a demo, which was only a tiny bit of the game. I came up against big boss Berial, and I didn't last long!
How did you do, Stevie? I understand the DMC series are like the hardest of games.
Ooh, I love the look of Nero. He's gorgeous.
I'm gonna post for a third consecutive time, anyway.
I've got my copy of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It's perfect, just as the ebayer I got it from said.
I gulped when I saw the instruction book - it's substantial! The amount of information is quite bewildering for me. And then starting the game showed me Oblivion is by far the most involved game I've played. I've never played one before which requires so much thinking.
It's a bit daunting, but I've enjoyed the tiny bit I've done so far.
I've decided to be a Redguard, with funky bright red hair. :D
I started off in the prison, and I am trying to work out how to get out of the building. I'm currently in the bowels of the building, but I need a key to open a door. I haven't been able to find it so far.
And I've had to kill a few rats, and a zombie! The zombie made me squeal - I wasn't expecting one of those. Lol.
I'm still unsure as the the whole health thing, etc, but I'm thinking the more I play, the clearer things will become.
I agree with what's said about the look of the game- it does look fantastic. My boyfriend thought so too. He liked the narration by Patrick Stewart, too (he likes Star Trek, lol).

O GRAND!!!!!!!
Wait until you get out into the main city. The game is awesome!
Do you want a hint on how to get passed the locked door? Just ask!
I'm a dark elf, Rogue. They're alright. After I beat Enchanged Arms, I'll go back to oblivion. That reminds me, I need to change my siggy and avatar. :hehe:

I can't wait until I can get out of prison, so I'd love a hint! (I'm not one of those people who doesn't like games help, can you tell? lol). :dancing:
I did spend quite a time rooting around, but no luck yet.
How did you choose a Dark Elf? I found the choice of character class quite puzzling. I decided to be a Redguard as they are meant to be good warriors, and resistant to poisons and diseases. I'm not great at combat, so I thought this might be the best choice for me. :victory:

Okies, so right now I'm assuming you're still in the building. Spoiler — click to revealGo back to where the King's body is. Remember how those people jumped out and killed him from the wall. Well, they left a hole. Go through there and you'll find yourself underground. You'll be underground for a bit before you actually make it out.

I chose the dark elf because I liked the idea of magic AND being a warrior. But to be honest it really was random, because I had no idea what the game entailed.

Ah, makes sense. :victory: I felt like it was kind of random too, as I don't understand how all the classes work yet.
Re: the spoiler - thanks! Now I think about it, I was underground when I saved and stopped playing.Spoiler — click to reveal It seemed to be underneath the building. I'm wondering if I was on the verge of getting out now.
Oh, I remember - I got a message my health was low, and that I needed rest, so I slept for some hours. I had to return to near where I started, as the game wouldn't let me rest near an enemy (I don't know what they were, as I didn't get to them).
And then I quit. Oops.
I'm itching to get back to the game now, but it's nearly 11 pm here, and I'm going to be in bed soon. *sniffs*
So I got out of prison today! Yaaaaaay! I was stunned when I got outside - so much space! It looked wonderful, too. Until some guy starting hacking at me with an axe, lol.
It was day when I got outside, and as I needed to get more health, I slept for some hours. After that, it was dark, and I was thrilled when a wolf appeared. :dancing:
I need to get the Emperor's amulet to somewhere (my memory's awful and I can't remember the name), so that's what I'm planning to do next. I want to visit some areas on my way there though. Seee if I can buy some useful stuff.
I didn't realize that what I had chosen before was my race (Redguard), and today I had to choose a class. I went for scout.
Awesome Keps :). Just remember that if you're stuck on where to go, just highlight the quest you want in your inventory screen and a red marker will appear telling you where to go.

That's the good thing about games like that... getting to choose your own race, class etc. In the FF games, it's set in stone :puppydog:
Keps wrote:Oh, I see. So 30 hours is not even like halfway through. Gosh, even more fab-sounding stuff about this game. I like the idea of lots of little quests, especially. Not so keen on battling...mainly because I'm sucky at boss fights.
When I got the game several years ago for my PC, I played it for about 100 hours and never started the main quest.
 Funny!

I took me 63 hours to finish the game, so that sounds about right. What area are you in right now?

I didn't know that! Thanks, kitakaze. :dancing:
I actually didn't play today - I got wrapped up in battling baddies with Ratchet And Clank. But I'm planning on playing more Oblivion tomorrow. :victory:

What were the graphics like on your PC? I read in a magazine that Oblivion looks best on the PS3...but then it was a Play Station magazine, so they may be somewhat biased, roflmao.

Ack! I'm jealous! Wow, you must be good to beat Berial first time.
Have you played the whole game, or was it a demo?
Oh yeah, I had a second try at killing Berial yesterday - I got his health down by half this time. That's good going for me, lol. The first time I barely touched his health bar.
Anyway, I intend on keeping trying to do better. *Gulp*

Im hoping for you!! :fingerscrossed: :dancing:
I thought there were harder bosses - that's why I know the game's not one I'll buy - just because I'd never get to see most of it, lol. Even though I adore the look the the game.
Just curious - have you played DMC3? I read that's the hardest one in the series.
Lol, thanks for the good wishes. If I do beat him, I reckon it's gonna take a looong time. :hehe:
