Madoka wrote:Finished Wild Arms 4. Ok game, nothing great. I found that I hate jumping puzzles while playing that game. I no longer have the coordination for them. That's also why I don't play fighting games--I can't pull of any combos. Keps, you would totally kill me in those games you mentioned.

I'm starting Suikoden V. I can't wait for Persona 4...only 6 more weeks. :)

Ooh, I'm actually terrible at the games I mentioned, so there's every chance you'd thrash me at them. I haven't been on them enough to learn any combos.

Guys! If you have a PS3, and you are interested in learning Japanese, then you have to get a free game off the Japanese PSN store, called Mainichi Issho (Everyday Together).
It's awesome, even though I can't read Japanese. You get to decorate your own room, and create a "Nyavatar". You can also buy stuff from the PSN store, but this entails getting yen into your account.
You can read news items, about games, events, all sorts, and then you often get a related gift. My favourite is a "Rolly". (Some weird type of dancing ball).
Toro (the cat who lives in the room you decorate) played with his Rolly last night. it was so cute seeing him dancing along! :hehe:
You can also play some games, online too.

O.K. kids, I had a customer call in today and he said whenever he plays "World of Warcraft" it knocks him off the internet. He claims it's an internet problem. I wanted to tell him he's full of it but, I learned a long time ago to never say never. Has anybody else experienced something like this, or is has this guy just got a short between his headphones?

Time for this thread to become active again!

Has anyone else got a PS3 here yet? I got LittleBigPlanet and Tomb Raider Underworld for Christmas. I'm totally in love with LBP. It's so cute, but is actually a tricky platformer (the disc levels, anyway). I adore going online and playing levels that other users have created. It's addictive. And seeing cute little sackboys and sackgirls running around together is so adorable. :dancing:

@ meoinkie - ah! I still have my PS2, but it's been out of use for ages now. I really want to play some of my PS2 games...but can never get around to it.

@ Wynter - I know Assassin's Creed is on PS3 too, but I wouldn't buy it unless I tried a demo. Hopefully one will be available in the future. :victory:

Oh, I really want a DS, but I'm just being greedy. I already have a PSP, and while that's great, I think I'd get a lot of enjoyment out of a DS too.

Here are just two of the costumes you can get on LBP:

And as you can take ingame snapshots (and I love taking them), here's one from a disc level:

Yay keps!

I haven't played PS2 for ages. I'll have to buy one for myself :)

That game reminds me a little of the old game The Neverhood. It's one of the most bizarre games ever created, and it still looks good despite being about 15 years old. Runs on Win XP too.

Hey, Keps, AnimeDad!

Still no PS3 here. Probably not one until late 2009 or early 2010. Definately when FF XIII comes out. I'll need to get Valkyria Chronicles then as well.

My PS2 is still getting a workout. Currently working on Persona 4, about 80 hours into it. Next up is Ar Tonelico II, whenever Amazon gets around to shipping it.

I've got one of the older DS's with the GBA slot. The DS is great if you like RPGs, even if many are ports. I don't play it too much currently as I like playing on a big screen.

AD, FF X languishes... :(

Hey AD! Ack, not managed to get any time on your son's PS2? :puppydog:
I had to look up The Neverhood, and watching gameplay on YouTube, I can see what you mean. The Neverhood looks to have a bizarre charm. If my laptop was good and had XP, maybe I'd consider it (currently have Vista and the world's slowest laptop).

Madoka! Nice to have you back. :victory:
Aw, I hope you do manage to get a PS3 this year. They are so expensive, though.

Lol, Persona 4 - that's got to be an RPG.

One of the things which attracts me to the idea of a DS is those kanji-stroke tutors you can get. Like this one -

Plus, I think there's a Sgt Frog game or two, as well.

a-nesuto - I'd heard there was a level cap. I have only done a tiny bit in Fallout 3, and have only got the Goat Whisperer trophy. I think it'll be a while before I go back to this game...maybe a patch will have been released before then to fix this capping (well, I can hope, anyway).

keps,
That game (The Neverhood) would run fine on a Pentium 2/350 from 10 years ago, so your lappy will have no problem with it. It doesn't really install on the comp as such anyway, it runs mostly off the CD so doesn't take up much HD space. But beware, the puzzles *will* drive you nuts. It's hilarious though :)

Well AD, I just had a look on ebay, to see if there were any there, and gasped at the prices. This must be a rare and sought-after game!
