I have it, but I haven't been able to play too much. What time are you usually on ?

I finished it, so I haven't been playing much, although I still have achievements to get. I need someone online to help me get the co-op ones. Are you game?

I'm such an idiot, I was looking through my xbox live account today and I realized that my account is silver now, since I didn't pay the gold fee this year. Sorry about that Wynter...I can't really afford to pay the gold membership right now. What is that, the second time I asked and left you hanging?

Even though I have a PlayStation 3, a Nintendo Wii and an XBOX 360, I still like to play some games that were released on the good-old PS2. Any of you REALLY played Final Fantasy XII? I'm at 56 hours now...

And I wouldn't mind some tips on how to get the best out of Blue Dragon. The counter for that game almost reaches 50 hours and I feel I can get much more out of it! PM me for the details, seeing as how I don't want to spoil anything for other players by posting some big spoilers!

No worries. :)

This is related to gaming...kind of.
I just want to say that the PS3 is awesome for watching drama on.
I've downloaded Bloody Monday, stuck the AVI files on to the PS3 hard drive, and it is wonderful.
I can watch some of an episode, and wherever I stopped it, the PS3 will remember, so the next time I press play, it starts just where it left off (even if the PS3 has been turned off in between).
Also, each episode has its own moving icon - 15 seconds of the drama (I can specify which 15 seconds).

Edit: *gulp* I'm not sure it could handle soft subs.

I played FF XII when it came out a while back. Loved that game. Some people hated the gambit system, but I really liked it. Took me 107 hours to finish it.

My PS2 is still going strong. I just finished Persona 4 at 106 hours, getting the "Normal" Ending. There's a "True" Ending with a bonus dungeon, as well. Not sure if I'm going to tackle that. Maybe.

Next up will be Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica.

I can do something similar. I have a DVD player with a USB port, so I can stick the dramas on a USB drive. The DVD player has basic softsub support, but it's not as good as the computer. Hardsubs look great on the big TV.

This is the glitch with xBox 360. It'll play some, but not all. Hardsubs are fine, of course.

I bought Final Fantasy XII when it came out here, exactly two years ago now. But I haven't played it non-stop so that's why I still haven't completed it... I'm now at 61 hours.

And since I live in Europe, not all RPG's (like the second series of .Hack-games, Grandia III and Dawn of Mana) are released here. I think Persona 4 will be released here, so that's good. Although I have not played any Persona-game yet... I just saw Persona 3: FES in the store... is it worth it?

Also, I love Ōkami... hope you know it...

I didn't know any DVD player had a USB port! I'm so behind the times.
The player plays directly off the USB stick?

PS3 doesn't like any soft subs, I don't think.
I didn't know Xbox 360 could handle stuff like this! Can you put stuff onto the hard drive to watch, or does it have to be discs?
What kind of space do you get with Xbox hard drives?

My PS3 was a 40 gb model, but quite recently I replaced that with a 320 gb hard drive. After formatting, I was left with 298 gb, of which I have about 190 gb left. Plenty of space for dramas!

I watch dramas on my XBox all the time! You can put stuff on the harddrive, and you can also attach external harddrives as well. In terms of hte space you get, this depends on which one you buy. I bought a 20g one, but you can buy larger harddrives for the xbox. Sorta like what you did.

Yup, I select USB rather than disc, and the player shows me what's on the stick. It has a built in Divx decoder. Supports .srt subtitles.

Persona 3:FES is basically the director's cut of P3 with many game enhancements, plus a bonus mini-game called The Answer which answers some questions left over from the main game. It's a steal at $30 US.

The Persona series are great games, but I must warn you that the Persona games fall under the Shin Megami Tensei universe. In fact the actual name of the game is Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4. I don't know if you are an RPG'er, but the SMT games are on the challenging side. The Persona games are not as hard as the Digital Devil Saga series or the brutal Nocturne, but they are definately harder than the Final Fantasy's or Grandia III. The battles are very tactical, and one mistake can mean a visit to the game over screen. Still, all the SMT games are amongst my favorite of all time. I thought P4 was a masterpiece. I apologize if you knew this already....

And I have Okami. :)

This is all stuff I didn't know at all! There's tons all over the net about how to upgrade PS3 hard drives, but I had no idea you could do the same with Xbox too! Hmm, and it sounds like Xbox can deal with more file types than PS3.
Ooh, I'd buy and Xbox 360 tomorrow if money were no object.

Hmm, something for me to consider when my main dvd player dies, I think. :victory:

I am definitely an RPG'er and I know the Shin Megami Tensei-series:

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3: FES
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon
(Not yet released in EU)
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (EU title = Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call, I have this one...)

I think that's all of them? I haven't played Nocturne that far, but it's been said to me by people who have that it's a difficult game.
I could get Devil Summoner for only €19,99...

My problem is that, when I buy an RPG of a series, I immediatley want the entire series... But then again, the Japanese RPG's are surely worth it! I'm just gonna do it!

Just one more question... do the SMT-games offer both English and Japanese voice-tracks? Or just one?

Ah, I didn't know you were an RPG'er. Sorry about that.

None of the US SMT games have the Japanese voice tracks. That would make the games perfect! I wish more games would come with both voice tracks.

Well, today I bought "Shin Megami Tensei: Pesona 3 - FES". I will start playing it later today...

Now, I would like to use this topic to ask a question that's been bugging me a long time. I have a PS3, and I downloaded the full, free game "Angel Love Online". Seeing as how its Japanese, which I don't read, write or speak, I can't play it. Is there anyone here that has played it? And if yes, could you tell me a little more about it?

Thanks!

Well, I just finished the "True Ending" to Persona 4 which is sortof a bonus dungeon. The True Final Boss took about 45 minutes to defeat. The first time I tried it, I made mistake at 30 minutes and got instantly destroyed.... Very satisfying ending this was; total of 112 hours and 28 minutes. That's #2 after Persona 3 at 125 hours and 25 minutes. :)

Wow, I'm in Persona 3 now only for 2 hours and I already love it! Too bad there are no Japanese voices...

Let's hope the SMT-game for the PS3 (which is in development right now), will.
