They would make up for their shameful loss against Australia.

Just saw Sweden score one. Congrats to them

Yes, I agree. But Croatia is pretty impressive... they kept up with Brazil as best as they could (because Brazil only made one goal!) so I'm not too sure if they'll let Japan go by smoothly. I highly doubt it.

But we'll see!

i agree with you wholeheartedly...the Croatians could easily have tied that match or even won it....

Is it a trend to score at the last minutes of the match now....

hahah...i like how you slid that one in there....like a tackle....

or an elbow when the ref is looking the other way :hehe:

but yeah, it sorta annoys me those last min goals. Like England did: they played shit and uninspired (again) and finally scored a goal in the 83rd min, I sorta wanted to see T&T get another tie game :usuck:

the ULTIMATE last minute goal was by NEUVILLE from Germany...i read article about the German victory over Poland and the headline read:

"OLD STORY, NEUVILLE ENDING"
:hehe:

Yeah, the germans are known to score in injury time, or even in extra time  As always you never know you've beaten germany till the final whistle goes.

Some teams are playing more offensive it seems, like Germany and Spain, they used to be really defensive playing 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 formations. It's good to see the more offensive play.

even though i have much respect for the Poles after that game, especially for their goalie...they had soooooo many shots on goal/attempts it seemed inevitable they would score at least once...did you see the game...

the fans in there were chanting/clapping/singing/yelling the ENTIRE 90 MINUTES...hell you would think they were tryin' to invade Poland again like on September 1, 1939....the match was war on the pitch

Terryb wrote:Damn after getting the red card: going on full defense only in the last 15mins is asking for trouble with 10 man, if they were more like Trinidad & Tobago they might have just nicked that point.

yes I did watch it, man I saw far too many matches already (nearly all of them), I been ahem "sick" since the tournament started :hehe: don't tell my boss.

tomorrow Holland is playing against Cote Divoire, I'm kinda afraid of them - so far that's the only team that has impressed me (in the game against Argentina)

well maybe Robben won't be so selfish this time.....
16 Jun 2006, 10:17 #497
Yeah, the other players were to blame too: they sent all the passes to him and when Robben has the ball 99% he will go for own succes. but it was nice to see him in form, he didn't play that well lately, while Van Persie was a lot better in the previous 3 matches. If both play well, any defense will be shaking.

well you know better than me! as long as the dutch goals keep coming nobody will complain...too much :P

Japan's match is Sunday??? Ha! We'll see if they understood that real training is on the field and NOT in Winning Eleven!

Seriously, I hope they won't be out so soon.

Swedish fans get into the spirit of the World Cup football...the beautiful game!
