It is time for the world of Soccer to go the way of American football.

Video replay is fair.

As for the ass-kicking contest.

That puts me in mind of the M. P and The Holy Grail's Black Knight.

"Come here and I'll bite you to death!" :hehe:

Some sort of video replay is far overdue, whether at the World Cup level or other tournament level soccer (i.e. Champions League, UEFA Cup, etc.) The sport is too big and too much money is at stake not to try to insure the accuracy of the officiating.

Like in other sports, the big problem is fighting inertia, aka the powers that be.

That goal that Van Bronckhorst just made, was amazing!
However, we've just started, so Uruguay still has many more chances to come...

And Uruguay's goal wasn't bad, either. Maybe my prediction will come true, after all ;)

Sizing up to be a great match. Diego Forlan's goal did have a lot of power on it too. Arguably the Dutch keeper could have blocked that one though.

He could have, indeed. But he did not. Nothing we can do about it anymore :)
Let's see what the second half brings us.

THREE to ONE! This game is over, man. Two goals in less than ten minutes.

As much as I wanted to see the finals between Japan and Holland (at which point I would be rooting for Japan, of course), I don't think I should be sad with the results as they are now...
