I guess the pressure got to the Ghana's players...this is the World Cup after all. First time Uruguay goes to the semi-finals in 40 years.

Did Maradona say that?

The Uruguay game was great, very entertaining. I had a feeling that the first Ghana player to miss the PK was going to miss it. He only took one step behind the ball, not enough imo, even the narrator was surprised when he did that.

Tomorrow is the big game, our slow defense is a bit worrisome, going against a fast German counter attack. I hope we're on target with our shots. :fingerscrossed:

After Brazil's loss to the Netherlands, I think it's safe to say this is the World Cup of upsets! Not that I was upset

Brazil has won 5 World Cups...they've had their shine; time for another nation to grab the glory.

They won't get a sixth this year.

True enough.

Today Argentina = abysmal humiliation.

The German Luftwaffe 4 to "Don't cry for me Argentina's" ZERO.

So this is what they meant by blitzkrieg.

Lionel Messi go home and cut that friekin' mullet off your head b/c it's slowing you down, man. FIFA Player of the Year and no goals...that ain't gonna cut it at the World Cup, son.

Tough loss to swallow. So many things wrong I could write an essay, but really the loss isn't surprising. We knew we had a slow defense, we've always been a slow team and the Germans had proven to be a fast team. I hope that we can get a real coach, but I doubt it. It looks like Maradona will be there until next year.

I really felt Paraguay was going to beat Spain, unfortunately they couldn't get it done. I can't believe that ref got this game, he had been terrible in his first game and he was terrible in this game. On the Paraguay PK, Spanish players are in the penalty area before the Paraguayan player kicked the ball. The Spanish players are in front of the ref and he doesn't re-kick. On the other side, a Spanish player has a foot in the area and the ref re-kicks. How does he see a foot but not the Spanish players on the previous pk? And then the goalie clearly takes down a Spanish player and the ref doesn't call anything. :shakehead:

The refs in this tournament are about as useful as a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.

Hehe.

Way too many controversial, game changing calls.

Yeah, I don't recall the previous tournament having this much controversy surrounding the refs.

Honestly, me neither. There is always some controversy, but as you stated, not to this degree.

It is time for the world of Soccer to go the way of American football.

Video replay is fair.

As for the ass-kicking contest.

That puts me in mind of the M. P and The Holy Grail's Black Knight.

"Come here and I'll bite you to death!" :hehe:
