Japan loses on PK's :(

They played well during this tournament...they earned respect.

Yes, they do!
I wanted to see the finals like this: Netherlands vs. Japan, with Japans being the ultimate victor. Sadly... this didn't happen... :(

But Japan played great! Too bad they lost...

It was a game with few scoring opportunities but part of that is due to the valiant defense both teams played.

Japan acquitted themselves nicely despite the loss.

I felt so badly for the Defense guy that missed the penalty shot. I would hate to be him today.

Komano? Dude cost them the quarterfinals. Tough bit of luck.

C. Ronaldo wasn't getting any calls, for sure he was fouled more than once. I guess that's what happens when you constantly flop. Portugal's goalie had one great game.

South America is having a great WC, four teams are in the top 8.

He already apologized to the nation....before he throws himself before an oncoming train at Shinjuku Station.

Man it was a tough loss for Samurai Blue. I was in a bar in Shibuya watching and there wasn't a dry eye at the end. As for Komano, I really had a bad feeling when he was given the nod to take that PK. Seriously, he had made some questionable decisions since Germany 2006. I would've rather have K. Nakamura take the kick. Anyway, gotta feel bad for him. It has been a great run for Nippon and they made a nation proud. Tokyo FM is currently playing "comfort songs" but I don't think it's working. :shamefulcry:

Yes, he did apologize. Poor guy. Must feel horrible. I bet there isn't enough sake in all Japan to drawn his sorrow at the moment.

Yeah I know what you mean. I think ppl were pretty broken up about it but I don't think they were out for Komano's blood.

I jest but hopefully the guy will get over it. He was not the first nor will he be the last player to be in that unenviable position.
