i gotta say, i was so hyped up about toma appearing on smap but it sorta let me down. it was only ok. they didn't really talk a lot in that segment. and just like elaine, i cracked up so much at tsuyoshi making the goku noises. i was laughing like a mad woman. it seemed like tsuyoshi and shingo were really hyper during yabusame ne. oh, and shingo even did a line as doku! nakai really likes to tease toma ne. he kept on saying "if you hit this, you'll be a star!"

the highlight of the bistro part was when miyazaki aoi said "i've never met kimura-san in real life but i have in my dreams. oh and inagaki-san too." lol. how true that is for every smap fan ne. :hehe: but poor tsuyoshi. she said that she's never met him in real life or in her dreams.

oh i think the best part was kimura going "kuchi kuchi kuchi kusai, owww!" ahaha. i always feel so bad for goro whenever they have foreign guests for the ending song. it seems like he never knows what to do and looks so awkward when the other members just dance around and have fun. i guess that's part of what makes him so endearing too.

I just finished SXS and I enjoyed the 3 letter Yabusame! :woot: You're right about how awkward it is for Goro around the foreign guest. I wonder if he'll ever get use to it.....Everyone else was just having a great time! I notice Hiro-chan off to side shaking his butt!

Takuya was having more fun then anyone though! I loved it!

That desert Shingo made my goodness it was big enough to feed 20 ppl! It looked really good though!

Incidentally, I've seen their junior (NEWS Never Ending Wonderful Story DVD) and even the backstage dressing room-cum-dining room was cramped and foods are not well-planned. Dunno if it was a joke but at one venue of their tour, Shige has nothing inside his bowl when he lifted the cover :shocked: so he got nothing to eat but just nibbled on some from the others. But SMAP had that time too when they're relatively new. I remember reading about the friendship of Goro and Takuya started a long way back then, when they were doing 3 or more shows in a day, venue were smaller then, they were roommates and Takuya and Goro had to make do with a Y250 bowl of noodles which they had to share. But now, it seemed like it was such a long time ago and kinda incredulous to know it happened with them too!

havent watched SmaSma for a year now. i miss them so much. but i cant DL anything much :puppydog:

Speaking of NEWS, you know I think when Yamapi grows older, he's gonna look like Nakai. They look alike to me, save for the more than 10 years age difference and the different vibe they have.

Okay, I can't really translate word by word, coz I just got home, and my head feels kinda dizzy now. I'll give the gist.

The talk about SMAP going independent and leaving the Johnny's Agency had been long surfaced. This time, about the recording label company transfer, Universal Music of Japan with AVEX, and apparently... SONY MUSIC is also secretly on for the struggle to fight for SMAP.

A person from the industry gave comments, "SMAP being independent and leave Johnny's is actually NOT impossible at all. So their recording label company transfer will effect the Johnny's Agency's future. Right now, Julie Fujishima (Johnny's niece) and Iijima Michi (SMAP's chief manager) are the strongest candidates as Johnny's successor to be the next owner of the agency, and they are in the middle of a bitter struggle.

SMAP debuted under Victor company, and right now this company is in a management crisis. In August, they started a financial capital cooperation with Ken Wood, and started a management reconstruction.

An employee in one of the related company said, "Ken Wood's manager is NISSAN's Carlos Ghosn who is famous as a pretty harsh cost-cutter. To reduce the recording company in Victor is unavoidable, because CD production and advertisement costs has to be cut down. Thus, they can't have their big stars stay in their company anymore. Southern All Stars is also rumoured, that they will leave the company too,".

And, of course, SMAP, the center of struggle between the 3 big recording companies in the meantime. However, it is almost obvious that AVEX is winning. AVEX has tight bond with Iijima Michi and Johnny's, and also with Victor's ex-president. A source said, "It seems Iijima Michi and AVEX had agreed on a cooperation to produce a movie, and that Kimura Takuya will star in that movie, in the occasion of AVEX 20th Anniversary,"

The rest of the article says, that this is not an easy match for Universal. However, Universal has Julie Fujishima's support to win SMAP.

Some said, that SONY will give up SMAP, and try to get Southern All Stars, instead. Moreover, on AVEX side, there's the Nakai-Kumi scandal.

With these recording transfer problems, Julie vs Iijima fight is getting intensed.

The last line is: "When the time of SMAP's recording label company decision comes, it seems that will be a sign of a one step further of the fall/collapse of the Johnny's Empire..."


Okay... I got goosebumps reading the last line x) Why must SMAP decision caused the fall of Johnny's Empire? They made it sounded like SMAP is this main enemy to Johnny's x)
So, I'd take it... that if Iijima Michi takes over Johnny's... the name won't be Johnny's anymore, I guess?? Michi's Agency? xD lol!

Elaine, the report source is not really reliable. I know some part is true,e.g. Victor's situation but most of the statement is still just uwasa and not confirmed yet.

Anyway, I am also very sorry hearing about Victor. I like the company not because of Smap but some perasonal reasons, a very familiar brand for me.
I am sad Arigato might become the last CD from Victor.
But I am worrying about Kohaku. If they doesn't release any new single this year, they may not appear in Kohaku on Dec 31! :puppydog:

I understand them moving to a new record company but I don't understand what that has to do with Johnny's empire :crazy: The internal struggle is a bit strange too because Johnny's has always been a family owned/ran business and I can't see them rolling over for no one including SMAP's manager. She has power but they still run/own everything. If it's true about the AVEX thing and Takuya's movie, it sounds like they are just trying to use him to get over. DAME! The fans will always love to see knew stuff from him but I don't think they'll appreciate them using him :beatyou:

But the Kouhaku think is worrying me too because the last time they didn't have a single they didn't appear.... :puppydog:

BTW, I've postponed my trip to Japan until November or December. There are several reasons but I think it's for the best. So Yanie dearest chotto matte kudasai :mrgreen:
