This music label war is very intriguing indeed.

For me personally, I hope it's Universal or Sony (eh, since when was Sony in this fight?!), cause Avex is more of a Japan/TW thing, whereas Universal & Sony are more international. The reason I'm concerned about this is: if they were to release their albums under Avex, it'll be like back in the Victor times, where they have to go through another local distributor. (For eg. I used to notice Avex' Taiwanese singers' albums were handled by Music Street here in Singapore, which sucks, yeah you know, I don't even know where the company is now. To think SMAP was under them too)
On the other hand, Universal and Sony has their own branch office here, so we'll be able to get timely SMAP releases, and maybe even get to see advertisements on the media! ^^ I just prefer things to come directly.
Not just in Asia, I think this will also have a bigger effect on fans in the Western countries (I presume Universal and Sony are more established there?)

Yeah, I kinda think that Universal would be the better bet, but Sony might just back off from the fight.

Are they making too much fuss about it? I mean even if SMAP move from JE to Avex, that doesnt mean they're out of the JE "Empire". Tokio and V6 or T&T or some other group also release with Avex and are still in JE arent they? Arashi experienced moving company too if i remember correctly but they're still in JE and doing nicely. (Well.. OK Arashi might that famous or as big as SMAP back then).

I hope they can settle it quickly so i can listen to Nakai harsh voice again :bonk: j/k :bonk:

i've read about smap's "trouble" as well with their victor entertainment....some article was saying that other record labels could not afford smap so basically they are stranded in the middle....

Well, thanks Yanie for translating the news. There had been rumors about Smap gonna get out of JE in the past but none of them were true. But this time the situation looks kinda serious.... :doh:

Like the others said, they can still stick with JE while releasing single/album under Avex(or other company)... Just like Arashi and T&T. I don't see any problem at all. But can't deny the fact that Smap is one of the biggest contributers to JE in profits since 1995, I bet some of the profit must have been used to promote the younger groups. Now I'm worried about the other singers and bands under Victor.... Yea, somehow I hope it's not Avex...

It's kinda weird if Smap isn't under JE anymore. When Matchy/Shonentai or the kouhais went to Smap's program, their chats is always about the 'good-old-days' in JE, like how they backdance for Smap, or Nakai gave them weird T-shirts.

Let's hope for the best for Smap. Arrrgh.... I haven't watch this week SxS yet!!!!

Ahh... I missed the first-half of Tokuban! I thought it starts on 8 PM, but it started on 7. I forgot Tokuban is a 2-hour SP xD

I only caught the Koda Kumi segment from the middle, didn't see it from where she came in... too bad. And this is definitely NOT a recap, this is a very new footage. When I turned on TV, Kumi was talking about having a trip together with a female friend, I think. And anyway... it all just went like usual appearances of Koda Kumi in Utaban, no mentions or any hints about her rumours with Nakai whatsoever, and Nakai-Kumi also acted like always, no shy looks and they carried on the show normally. However, I didn't see it from the beginning, so I might have missed something...

I've just finished watching Tokuban. ummmm, honestly speaking, I have no idea about their relationship after watching them.
The begining of their part, she said she was surprised hearing about their scandal and thought it's her great honor.
Nakai said that he had thought she wouldn't appear in the program any more because of their scandal. She, either,
But after the conversation, they began to talk about other things and neber mentioned about their scandal.

So Kumi was on UTABAN! :shocked: I thought it was another show....so they didn't make a big fuss out of the rumors and were pretty comfortable with each other huh...That doesn't mean they aren't dating. It just means that they are close to each other. Unless they flat out denied it, it still can be possible. Kumi is smooth enough to pull that off. And so is our Hiro-chan! They are both professionals and I'm sure they have learned how to hide their true feelings when on camera. :bonk:

Anyways, I too want SMAP to sign with a larger company that is more international. Universal and Sony have lots of money and can really put more effort into SMAP. Not to mention, like Nickel56 said, they can distribute better and more efficiently. :fingerscrossed:

SMAP is still under Johnny's. J-Dream is a wholely owned subsidiary of JE. They will be under J-Dream under Johnny until they split up. Because either way if they leave JE, there is no more SMAP.

One of the possibilities, yes.

But, just a reminder, usually when SMAP members ACTUALLY date someone, to be on the same show, is as avoided as possible. Just like Goro-chan and Kanno Miho. Also, though Nakano Minako stayed awhile in IiTomo, even after the purikura of Nakai kissing her circulated on the net... but in the end, she left the show, when the news got intensed^^

Nope there aren't any pictures of them together so everything is still just a rumor. I remember that picture :shocked: ! Hiro looked like he'd been drinking a lot and was having fun. Didn't Goro and Miho appear on SMAO or something was that before they started to date?

My goodness, I think it's all pretty crazy though because they are men and should be allowed to openly show their feelings towards whomever they love :grumble: I know it's a marketing ploy but still, I think they're getting to old for this crap!.....except for Shingo, I'm not ready for him to get married! :bonk:

This thing about Nakai & Kumi is getting intriguing with the mystery of it all, whether they "are" or not. But it offers some thrill to fans to keep on guessing. Whether it's true or not, one thing I can say is that they're very good in hiding (by acting just normally even when together in front of the camera to quell any speculation) and avoiding any paparazzi shots. Which is not impossible because just like the other SMAP members, there are no shots of their goings and comings be it with someone they're emotionally involve with or just plain hanging out with friends. Upto now, it's still speculation whether it's really Goro & Miho with news before of them being a pair, then separating then much later, the girl was seen leaving his place (but we never knew, was it really Goro's? or he might have transferred house already) & even upto now, no confirmation whether they're a pair or not. Much more with Tsu, no idea whether he's involve much more if he lives in Japan :nut: just kidding because no news or photo whatsoever on where he stays upto now, very good in hiding! :doh: And I think that's their flair in being artists, they know they're hounded for any news, so the more they are extra careful not to reveal anything and let everyone guess, be it paparazzi, reporters and fans. :rolleyes2:

lol, i'm sure there are tons of women that still aren't ready for nakai/tsuyoshi/goro to get married or even date. i seriously want them to get married and start a family already! especially nakai! you know the risks and difficulties are increased in pregnancy as people get older. i seriously want nakai and the rest of smap to be able to play with their kids and not have to strain themselves when picking up their kids. but by the way things are going i fear that they won't even officially have a girlfriend in their late 40s!

i don't really care who a smap member marries as long as she really loves him, makes him happy, and doesn't make him change who he is.
