$3300, er, $2300 is reasonable?

Gomen, i didn't understand your advice the first time around (too much comp linguo). What do you suggest?
9 Nov 2007, 10:30 #4023
no suggestion, just that there's no G6/7 on the horizon.

9 Nov 2007, 11:10 #4025

How much does it cost to ship to India? Three goats and an elephant is my guess.
9 Nov 2007, 11:35 #4027
actually it's gone down in recent times it's only two goats and an elephant now.

Turns out my lappy is having a few issues: The battery lasts for about 15 minutes, and the power brick is failing too. It makes buzzing sounds and the power doesn't get through to the comp. No wonder the boss got a new one :beatyou:

Why don't you just take that amount and invest in buying a new laptop. I think in the long run that would be better. I mean you can get great laptops for amazing deals.

Unless it's a Mac.

The VP here just bought a new MacBook: $2100USD.

Must be nice to spend money on the company's dime. :shakehead:

LOL.

I did some looking around online: Some shops had them for about $100, but none had any stock. I went to a local battery shop that DID have one in stock. It was $180, so I bought it.
But when I checked the credit card docket later, they had missed a "0" - and charged me $18 :victory:

Let's compare shall we? I spec'd them as close as possible.

MacBook Pro 15" Widescreen Dell Precision M4300
2.4Ghz Core Duo 2 2.4Ghz Core Duo 2
2GB DDR2 SDRAM 2GB DDR2 SDRAM
200GB SATA 7200RPM 200GB SATA 7200RPM
8x DVD_+RW/CD-RW 24X CD-ROM (no DVD-R option)
Built-in 802.11n & Bluetooth Intel(R) 4965 802.11a/g/n mini-card
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 360M

$2699 $3016

*waits for comparison w/ $600 piece of sh*t*

even the work notebook issued to me specs out around $2000 (though we get heavy discounts)

Why should it be?

I've been anti-Apple from the get-go.
