Good job, A-Dad...!

One thing i'm still doing: Uninstalling printers. The boss has had, like, 3 different printers, but never uninstalled any of the crap that gets installed for any of them. :bleh:

I woulda thought you'd wipe the disc clean and do a fresh install... That'll clear out all of that crapola... :)

True, in fact our IT guy offered to do that. I might even take him up on it :victory:

An XP install ain't too bad... I've done a number of them from upgrading HDs and stuff... The (semi) tough part is cataloging all the previously installed software beforehand...

An unexpected down side to my recent car accident: I discovered yesterday that my recently-acquired lappy got damaged in the accident and won't boot :( I knew that it had slid off the seat, but I didn't know it had been damaged :banghead:

Collateral damage.

Judging from the damage to the car, maybe the hard drive bought it.

Hope you backed up recently. :fingerscrossed:

Luckily, there wasn't much on there.

I'm guessing the HD is cactus, hopefully they will put a bigger one in. Mine was 40G :fingerscrossed:

I have to change links on at least a thousand html pages my site. Is there any (free) program that will do it automatically instead of me having to manually change them?
11 Dec 2007, 05:19 #4076
In what way do you have to replace them?
11 Dec 2007, 05:33 #4077
I don't get your question. Basically I have to change it from an old url to a new one. Like:

http://www.oldlink.com to http://www.newlink.com

LOL, any text editor will do a find and replace, like if it's http://www.oldlink.com/link1 and you want to replace with http://www.newlink.com/link1 you just use a text editor to find http://www.oldlink.com and replace with http://www.newlink.com

You could try Crimson Editor, it's free and has a good find and replace:

So this program will do it all for me and I won't have to open and edit every single .html page that I have on my site?

Er, that's a bit different.

You could try http://www.k-free.co.uk/find-replace-software.html , it seems to do what you want. I'd be making a backup of the whole site first though
