That's odd... Like connecting one CD player to another CD player to listen to it...

Did it work before you connected the iPod?

I didn't notice anything strange till today. I haven't really listened to anything using my laptop since December 27. On that day, I know I was listening to my iPod via the laptop.

When you shutdown did you turn it off completely?

Yes.

Did you get any sound like Windows startup or other system sounds?

I don't hear the Windows startup or anything else.

Well, the reason why I listen to my iPod via my laptop is because it's more convenient when I'm working on my site and need to listen to a certain line over and over. Itunes has better control than the iPod when you need to do things like that.

Make sure you run your virus scanner and check the sound properties in the control panel and make sure your soundcard is still selected.

Aha! I checked the control panel and the stupid thing was on "mute". I have no idea how the heck that happened, but I feel like such an idiot. Thanks for the help!

I may have some good, no Great news...

For a long time, I've searched for a BT client that doesn't drag down my CPU, memory or browsing, but with little success...

on the recommendation of a friend, I downloaded and installed a BT client called Deluge...I used it last night to download Aikurishii 5...the d/l speed was very good..

But more to the point, there was absolutely no interference with other things I was doing...no slow opening files, no loss of speed in opening websites...no CPU drag, no memory hog and no-lag browsing...

I'm still working with it, but so far, it's the answer to a prayer!

Anyways, get it here...

If you have the encryption turned on, no one should be able to hijack your wireless connection...

If this just happened after you added your wireless router, maybe you need to double check all of your settings on the router AND your PC... And maybe contact the manufacturer for tech support since the router is new...

Good luck.

the reason why you're getting the error is because two machines with the same IPadress connecting to your router. (say like your main pc is 192.168.0.1 and your PS3 has the same IP, you will get the error - but you still can go online) probably has nothing to do with strangers trying to mooch off your connection.

Ok, this is really pissing me off. I was burning some dramas with TDK DVDs and everything was working out great until I got to the middle of the 100-pack. That's when I got 4 bad discs in a row. When I tried burning the same drama file with a Verbatim disc, it turned out fine.

Does this sort of thing happen a lot or is it just my bad luck? Either way, it looks like I'm not going to go with this TDK brand anymore. :usuck:

Oh, and just in case someone asks, I used DVD Identifier and the good TDK discs had the same Manufacturer Name and ID as the bad ones.

It happens.

You might get another TDK 100 pack and none of them will be bad.

The manufacturers make millions of these things, so there's bound to be some bad ones every now and then, especially when there's millions of discs... They're not perfect. :)

Yeah, you're right. I just found it really odd that it happened 4 times in a row. I thought that maybe the disc I was copying or my PC was screwing up until I tried other discs, which were successes. I'll try seeing if I can back up some of the junk on my laptop with the TDK's before I totally write off these discs.

Did the discs look defective in any way (scratched, cracked etc.)?

Before I started buying Verbatims, I was using Prodisc and the first 100 I used had no bad burns, then the second 50 had like 3 or 4 bad discs...

I'd still use 'em, but the Verbatims were on sale, so I went for those instead... :)

I went to a friend's place for a barbecue the other night. While I was there, I was asked to help them get their new laptop working on their wireless network (am I the only one who this happens to?) and I discovered they have NO encryption on it.

HUH?

Then they told me their download allowance was exceeded very rapidly last month. No wonder!

I don't think they did. I can't check them either because I already chucked them into the trash. :(

I think I used Sony discs before I got Verbatims. Sony worked fine for me, but since Verbatims were on sale, I got those. I hope there's another sale soon because I'm running out of discs and I've got a few trades going on.

I have to burn 2 copies of the same disc for a couple of trades and I have to copy the master disc twice. Is there a way to enable the Nero program to just do it once? This double-copying is really taking a lot of unnecessary time.

It doesn't work if you say 2 copies in the Destination section?
14 Jan 2008, 15:24 #4119
You could make an image of the DVD, save it to your computer, and then burn the image twice :victory:

Hmm...you may be onto something. I'm looking at the thing and it says "Copy 1/1" so there must be a way to make it copy something twice. Now to find out how to do that after this disc is done..

If the method dochira suggested doesn't work, I'll try this. :)

And I will post again on if it was a success or not. Thanks you guys! :D
