From what you said below, the difference is about 28 minutes. :P

It may sound like semantics, but they're two different processes: "deleting" selectively removes files from the disc, while "erasing" wipes everything off the disc, like reformatting... And obviously one takes a whole lot longer.

And it took a half hour using Nero to doing one of those things (getting rid of what was on the disc). I have to check when I get home.

Try erasing. It should only take a couple of minutes.

If it doesn't, your DVD burner must be crap... It can't be the PC, 'cause I've erased DVDs on slower PCs and it still only take a couple of minutes.

my 2x RW takes 35 minutes to fully Erase a disc. Writing over the disc header so that you can rewrite the disc only takes 3 minutes.

Ah, a FULL erase...

That's probably what cori-chan's doing...

Yup, a Quick Erase... I always use that.

Nice.

I've got the 206BW... 20" widescreen... Really sharp, crisp text (better than my old CRT) and pretty good color for an LCD.

The piano black finish is a nice touch, but a freaking dust magnet.

It'll get there albeit slowly....I remember when I bought a Samsung laser for 50 bucks it took several weeks for the MIR to arrive.

Hey, a computer thread!

I saw the 206BW over at a Staples not long ago, looks pretty nice. I'm currently using a 940BW, and while it's served me nicely, I'm eyeing 22" or 24" LCDs with the intent of getting one later on. The prices for 22" models aren't bad at all (that HP Tu_triky linked to looks mighty tempting), and maybe there will be some good deals on 24" models.

I'm also waiting on how low the Q6600 processor will go for in a few days, once Intel's price cuts take effect. Looking to pair that up with a 8800GT so I can have a decent gaming setup and a super duper awesome HTPC to watch Juri-chan videos with :hehe:

Unfortunately, some of us can't exactly pony up $590 for a monitor without our wallets and checking accounts crying in the corner afterwards...

that's silly, it's unamerican not to be in debt. :hehe:

Maybe I should consult my credit cards about the monitors...

we're not talking about rims here. 600 bucks for a monitor....that's ricockolous.....why not just spend that dough on a TV.
