if you look at the older pics of hamasaki ayu, she looks totally different. but for the most part, the 'accentuations' that j-stars do (if they opt to do so) are on subtle (on the face, maybe tummy or butt) and almost never breast implants.

I KNOW!! :google: I have a drama with her in it from like 1996 or something. She looked so different that I watched the show, not even realizing it was her. And she didn't have the nasalness at the time either :hehe: :beaten:

From Yahoo! News:
------------------------------------
ROME (Reuters) - An Italian woman who had her breasts enlarged with the biggest silicone implants available is being hunted by police after she skipped out on the 7,500 euro ($9,500) plastic surgery bill.

Police say they have few leads as the woman used a false name but are relying on a photograph and her unusually large bra size to find her, a newspaper reported Thursday.

The woman did a runner from the exclusive private hospital in Rome a day after the two-hour operation which doubled her bust size, her plastic surgeon Jamal Salhi told the Corriere della Sera Thursday.

"Unfortunately this kind of fraud isn't that unusual," Salhi lamented.

lol. Well... actually, Ayu has had less cosmetic surgery than many others who aren't as noticable.

Ayu had lower eyelid surgery right before filming her "Boys & Girls" video (right after she filmed her Powder Snow PV). Other than that and a LOT of extra makeup, she hasn't had much other FACIAL work done...

although there have been rumors about other parts of her body.

She is also a diet and cardio fitness freak which contributes to her facial accentuations.

i have nothing against it. if you want it and can afford it, go ahead. if you need it and have help in getting it, go ahead.

Hands down, I would be against it if one of my friends ever decided to try to reconfigure "a small problem" in her face. Well good thing none of my friends are really like that in the real world.

However, it is their life and I won't go much in the way if they have carefully decided to get their face remolded.

The beauty lies truly from within yourself.
Outer beauty only goes so far - without a personality to boot - it's not going to work out.

That's why I obviously excel in both! Well, not gonna boast anymore, considering you know what happens when you say those sort of things. That's why I got my chainsaw ready! **Rips the chainsaw engine and starts slicing things down** Aha - fear my girl power. lol

Implants are nice. Just as long as they aren't too big. :)

I certainly think there have been cases where peoples lives have been changed for the better. As with most things people should do what makes themselves happy. Plastic surgery should not be done for someone else's sake.

Amen. Tha's how I feel, too.

I dunno, I have the impression that there's an unwritten rule that the more plastic surgery you get, the more it needs to be maintained, for purely superficial reasons, I should qualify.

For purely medical purposes (which I'm glad the above poll takes into account), on the other hand, some plastic surgery's done to correct a congenital deformity that the patient'd need to live (contributory example off the top of my head -- heh, pardon the pun -- is if the opening of a newborn's nostrils are narrow enough to impede breathing) or to restore a function lost or impaired via illness or injury.

In such cases, it's ironic that the patient might not have a choice BUT to get undergo plastic surgery. I would guess the maintenance factor'd be a bit lower than those who opt to "experience" (and enjoy) plastic surgery for beatific reasons.

I actually used to be against plastic surgery but for some reason, I'm sort of for it now. Well, I'm not encouraging anyone to get plastic surgery, but I simply don't mind it. But anyways here are some things that could make good for discussion...

I'm sure a lot of people are against liposuction and I was against it as well but if someone was obese or overweight for most of their lives, and they lose a lot of weight, there will always be pockets of fat that will linger and won't go away through diet or excercise. Sure it's great for a person to excercise and get in shape through natural means, but it's kind of unfair for them that they're not able to get rid of areas where there are excess fat. So why can't lipo be an option for something like this?

Or how about woman who have given birth and are left with stretch marks or even someone with stretchmarks since they were a child. I wouldn't consider stretch marks a serious scar or anything, and you certainly won't die with having them, but I feel it's okay for a person to want to get rid of them through cosmetic surgery.

I guess overall, our world is really based on aesthetics. We see it everyday in the media and on the streets. Many people will say just be yourself, but no matter what, how you look like does matter. I think it's awesome that a lot of people have enough self esteem to not care what others think, but it's sad that the greater majority do care, and that's one huge driving reason for cosmetic surgery.

Basically if plastic surgery is conducted for medical reason, I'm not against it at all.
But if it's merely for vanity..oh dear..just look at this celebrity Jocelyn Wildenstein..she has wrecked her face..
