Thank you very much for the information! Especially since I've been searching for Japanese entertainment magazines for 2 years now, but with no luck until today!! :woot:
Actually, my friend, the one I am to go to P-Mall with, she mentioned previously that there was another place called First Markham Place. If you don't mind, can you give me the address as it might be worth checking out. For us, since we live in Canada where there are hardly any Japanese fans (well, at least compared to those lucky countries such as Singapore and Malaysia!), it is extremely difficult to find any J-Pop/Johnny's Junior-related merchandise at all! It is very frustrating!!
Actually, since I live in Mississauga, I must always take the subway from Islington Station to the one in Markham (Kennedy Station, I believe), then take a long bus ride to Pacific Mall. How would I go from the Kennedy Station area to this First Markham Place you speak of?
As for Japanese dramas, if you like to watch them (of course you do because you are on this website!) then there is a store in P-Mall, on the lower level. It sells them for $23 CDN, or 2 for $40 (VCD). I think it is called AV Pro. I used to always get them from there, but if I am in the Toronto area (downtown), then Chinatown on Spadina Avenue has this place I recently discovered, I think it is near Dragon City. Anyways, this store sells them for $15 each. Since you're Chinese, I suppose you've been to that area previously.
Everyone who reads this has to pity me! Once when I was at P-Mall, there was this store and I nearly cried with joy to discover some SMAP and V6 albums, plus some female Japanese artists, but I don't care for them... Anyways, there was one Arashi CD: ARASHI Single Collection 1999-2001. And I let my friend get it since she saw it first. As a result, I do not own any orginal Arashi items! Arrgh, I feel so pathetic...! :shamefulcry:
Well, the above are the only places I know with Japanese things on sale! Since you've been to First Markham Place, does it sell NEWS thingies as well? Please reply and tell me all you know! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! :muack:
actually, the japanese like to classify people's personalities by what their bloodtype is...thats why people ask and its always listed on friends stuff...or idol listings or whatnot...
this page http://www.tamenobu.com/2005/01/whats-your-bloodtype.php shows what they think each bloodtype tells about a person.
I remember this, my Japanese teacher told me that Japanese ppl ask eachother "what's yeur blood-type" or something like that...
arashilove wrote:Uh, this might sound strange, but actually I don't know my own bloodtype! How do you find out?
O__O ASK YEUR PARENTS! ahaha or look at the card that has yeur info it should have the bloodtype or something...well in grade 11 (where I live) if yeur tkaing Bio, they give yeu a blood test to see the blood types and stuff
but it's better asking yeur parents XDD I don't even know mind but I think mines a O..I think I saw it on a card of mine..but its been soh long it's kinda blurry soh can't remember if its a O or something else XD

Hah, it is very hard to find Japanese/J-pop..ect...merchandises and stuff here in Canada but I can always find Concerts in Chinatown..obviously were they sell some Japanese stuff...they sell more like Japanese plates and hosue stuff... but there are some Magazines!
This lady who owned a Sanrio/Anime/DVD/CD store ..Iw ent there once and there was Japanese magazines I was like "waa...j-pop magz!" and she's like "oohh yeu like? Tell me wich issue yeu like the best, I will order every month" she's like totaly nice to me XD I always by Concerts/CD's there...obviously J-pop but she has no Arashi stuff sadley...only other Johnny's stuff
There's another DVD/CD/VCD store that sells any kind of DVD/CD/VCD stuff it even ahs more jpop concerts,cd's it surprised me XDD
There's also some Japanese movies...sadley I didnt had time to look for the Japanese movies there... :shakehead: I'll take a longer look later
But they sold some Jdoramas at the other store it was soh exspensive..T_T it wasn't any Arashi related but it was Beautful Life
I bet they sell more jpop stuff at Toronto...-.- wich I was spose to be going sadley not anymore... ='(
If you wanna know about bloodtypes, go to that website link that was posted earlier on this very page. I found it helpful!
As for me, since my parents are not home, I'm guessing that I'm also an O according to the site...but who knows? Actually, I just remembered that in Canada where I live, one must go to a hospital and pay a certain amount of money to find out your bloodtype...if you're interested. Here, no one cares at all, though. If I asked an acquantance or someone what their bloodtype was, they'd look at me suspiciously, like "Huh?! Why would you wanna know that?!" In Japan, it would be understood as normal if someone asked you, I suppose. But since the Japanese seem to take it seriously, then I find it is worth knowing!

hehehe... prepare for dork alert central. blood types are determined by the antigens (or lack thereof) carried by their red blood cells. i don't remember what exactly antigen A or B are, i think they were just given the names of A and B... without any real reason. but anyway, if you're type A, then your red blood cells have antigen A and produce antibodies against antigen B. The reverse is true for people with type B blood. However, some people have both antigen A and antigen B on their red blood cells and do not produce antibodies against either- they're blood type AB. then people with type O blood (like me!! and matsujun :woot:) have neither antigen A or B on their red blood cells but prodce antibodies against both A and B. :)
the +/- is from the Rhesus factor- if you have the Rh factor on ur red blood cells, its +
and anyway i thought that AB- was the most uncommon... O- is pretty uncommon but not that much so. AB- is also more uncommon then O- i believe, AB is quite special. =P and the -'s on a whole are more uncommon than +'s...
ok now i feel like a total dork. but yea... thats what the blood types are. i wont go into who can donate to who just 'cause... i feel dorky enough as it is. :google:
yay! fellow torontonians... i'm in richmond hill. so i'm close to FMP as well. it really sucks that p-mall and FMP totally JACK up their prices on the few arashi products there. so i have absolutely NO arashi merchandise. it's so depressing. but do you think they'll sell the ONE CDs there?? cause i wanna get. i've only seen the hero/hitomi singles there. i was so happy/depressed at the same time cause i rarely see them, but it's so expensiveeeee! i've barely been to chinatown so i've gotta check that out for some arashi stuffs. i really wanna go to HK again to see if they've got arashi things there. WHY don't they have the concert here?? i just don't get it...
and i checked that site about the blood things. it's quite accurate! i'm an O!! my whole family's either A or B, and i'm the only O. which is really strange

Your profile says "Cambodia" but do you live in Toronto area? Actually, I did not know that there were many Canadians on this forum. But now you all are showing up, I don't feel so alone! :dancing:
Yes, anyone living in Canada can sympathize with us for being so lacking in Japanese entertainment magazines, CDs, posters, and whatnot. I really envy in Tokyo where if you want something, you just go to the Official Johnny's Shop, for example. Here, you have to scratch around in the dirt for even something worthwhile, and when you find it, it is quite pricey!
Actually, in P-Mall the Japanese celebrity items I have found the most were W-inds. So if you also like W-inds then you can go there to buy. As for SMAP and V6, you might find some of their older CDs, but Arashi and NEWS? Not a chance! Actually, when the Tackey and Tsubasa Twenty-Two CD came out, I was lucky enough to buy it for around $25 CDN. Is that a good deal, or expensive? :headscratch: Well, though it became my favourite CD for awhile, it was destroyed by my baby cousin while I was on vacationing in Turkey. I have the worst luck... :mecry:
Therefore, whoever is living in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), for example Markham, Toronto, or Mississauga, and knows ANYWHERE at all that sells good merchandise, please let me know!! I am desperate!!

i dont like w-inds...well i never had a chance to listen i did but iddint like it.anyways back to arashi...
hey do the stuff in P-Mall exsensive..? like the Arashi stuff...?
If there is a negative attached to your bloodtype, it is not a bad thing at all! Only it is rarer so if you're in an accident and need some blood or something, it might be a little harder to find a match. There are four blood groups: A, B, O, and AB. Actually, the "rhesus factor" is the scientific name that determines whether or not you are negative or positive. It was first discovered by a scientist (forget his name) when he was studying the rhesus monkey--hence, the name (it is named after a monkey species!). As I said before, the rarest is AB negative.
If you know your parents' bloodtypes, then here is how you might find Pyours:
Two A parents can produce an A child or an O child.
Two B parents can produce a B child or an O child.
Two O parents will ONLY produce an O child.
If even one parent is AB, then no child of his or hers will be O.
If only one parent is O, and the other is something else, their children will NOT ever be an O or an AB, but only either A or B.
Phew...
I learned all this in Grade 11 Biology this school year and genetics was the unit I aced (and the only one I could endure). Hee hee...my science-geek Bio teacher will faint from happiness if he read this, because he always was complaining that I never payed attention in class! Well, I did.
P.S. Um...I bet people are thinking: Is this a genetics forum or an Arashi forum?! Please be patient and read a few pages back if you don't understand. Actually, sorry to start this. Yes, I started all this!

To arashilove. the only place that i know that have arashi merchandise. sort of. is j-town?? but only magazines and such. it's not much. but they do have tapes and such of japanese shows. they DO have the shows of some arashi members..dunno how that helps. prolly doesn't. sorry...i too am so deprived of arashi, so i dunno. try checking chinatown?? i think that COULD be your best bet. i've checked almost everywhere for arashi, and still haven't found much

Over here Chinatown is the ONLY place that would have any jpop related stuff soh it kinda sucks plus my chinatown is...small... :shakehead:
Yes, Canada is FREEZING if you live nearer the north, but where I live, it is so close to the U.S. border. Like, from my house, driving to New York will take about 4 hours or so, and Canadians can cross the border to America the easiest out of any country in the world. If you ever visit, come to Toronto (40 minute bus ride from where I live) or Vancouver on the west coast (Pacific Ocean). Well, it is the second biggest country on Earth. But too bad the Johnny's are only obsessed with America (New York, Los Angeles) and they will never even consider Canada! :mecry:
Aiba-Masaki:
Yes, next time for sure, I will put my sacred J-Pop things into a safe! My mom actually gave a key to my aunt to clean our house before we came back from vacation, and she brought her three-year-old daughter along, and the little devil waddled into my room and spilt nailpolish remover on it!! :banghead: To prove how pathetic and desperate I am, I still put the damaged T&T CD (which I have kept!) into my CD player from time to time, hoping that God might have pity on me and it might suddenly start working--like magic! And yes, you silly! Ottawa is the capital of Canada and Toronto is the capital of Ontario. I've only been to T.O. though... As for Pacific Mall, the prices vary. Before I first went there, everyone came up to me and said, "WAH! You are going to P-Mall, I heard, but that place is SO expensive!" I was scared to go after that, but really, depending on which store you are at, the prices vary greatly. It is definitely worth checking out as it is the #1 largest Asian mall in North America. It also sells nice clothes and stuff...but again, I only saw one Arashi item in the entire mall, and I've been there about 10 times. Again, at AV Pro in P-Mall, dramas are $23 CDN each and $40 for 2. However in Chinatown on Spadina Ave., they are $15 each.

and an8id you're from australia?? i've always wanted to go. i am obsessed with accents. i love australian accents. they're so cool! and it's so beautiful in australia... i need to go one day!
how do we get so off topic?? well. i'm not helping very much to try and get ON topic, so i'll just stop. for now

hehehe!!! i actually don't remember if i'm O+ and O-... i'm 95% sure that i'm O-....but yeah, O isnt bad... in fact its really GREAT! O- is the universal blood donor! we can donate blood to everyone, but can only receive from fellow O-'s. meanwhile AB+ can receive blood from anyone.... so yeah O-'s are widely sought after when giving blood because they can give blood to anyone! so i always feel good giving blood :P hehehe. but yea to have the same blood type as Jun is GOOD... apparently.. according to that website. :D in terms of compatibility anyway. but either way, its good for the world to be O-.
:)
arashilove- ohhh how i miss new york's chinatown and flushing... flushing is like a 30 min drive from my home... and has really great dramas for real cheap :D but not in boston :(

w00t, so am I! :woot:
In fact, my whole family is, even my parents (no, it's not inbreeding). But I think we consider ourselves more Cambodian than anything else. Don't know a lick of Chinese.
I live in the US closer to the Mexico border, so I don't really know the hardships you Canadians go through to get your Jstuffs :patpat: (I live in Little Saigon, so I have Vietnamese and other Asian stuff around all the time). Although it does seem like you guys are outnumbering us on the board.... maybe there will be a JEntertainment boom in Canada?
